This was a reflection I wrote for My Gran's Funeral.

My Grandmother

I had an angel watch over me all my life

To comfort and console me in times of great strife

And although her wings were not in view

With her sweet embrace you always knew

That you were enshrined in fathomless love

Blessed by God's hands from up above

She was our rock upon which we lived our lives

Depositing great faith from which everything derives

The Matriarch of Matriarchs, scholar and friend

Forthright and righteous till the very end

She is now on the final leg of her Journey

To complete a life's cycle of which we have no power of attorney

Although we may grieve and be weakened of heart

She will join her loved ones who too didst depart

And take her place in heaven which God has preserved

And live amongst the saint's so richly deserved

And I thank God for the wonderment that was my Grandmother

So let's fulfil her legacy and Love one Another

Until it is our time to reach our Journeys end

God bless you granny now and forever amen.
