Heaven's Arms

Poetry By: GuardianAngel85

My friend's father died and I don't know what to do. We aren't really close anymore and I don't know what to say. This is my poem to her and her family. To my friend, if you ever read this: I'm so sorry.

I never knew it would happen
I wish you would have told me
But somethings are better left unspoken
Some pain not meant to be seen

I wished I could have been there
I wish I saw it coming
I wish I could defend you
From the pain that you are feeling

We were once pretty close
You helped me settle in
Then 8th grade came, different teams
And I barely saw you since

We rarely chat online
In hallways, it's only hello
Now this storm comes blowing in
Delivering a fatal blow

I'm so sorry I wasn't there
I'm so sorry I'm not here
I'll send God a little prayer
I hope you know I care

I'm sorry for what happened
But it was time for him to go
He didn't go alone
For part of you stuck with him
The day God brought him home
