The trees, they breathe,
Spreading their branches wide,
Like webs they criss cross across the sky,
They wait,
Wait for the two to return from beyond,
The silence is suffocating,
The suspense too great,
They wait,
Their roots chain them to the earth,
No way to leave,
No way to find them,
They wait,
The area is filled with shadows of the past,
The long forgotten memories of happiness and peace,
Once a sanctuary, now abandoned,
They wait,
One returns most days,
But never enters the trees,
The pain of old memories too great for her to bear,
They wait,
The other forgets and fades away,
The first, at last, joins the trees, and together,
Sitting in long forgotten memories,
Theywait.
