When I was a child I played hopscotch
Marbles and blackjack,
I even jumped with a skipping rope.
There was not much TV
It was black and white then.
Yet on TV I remember
Andy Pandy plus Bill and Ben,
My Favourite was the wooden tops with spotty dog.
We also road our bicycles and swung on swings
Climb trees and had mud fights,
Plus played hide and seek.
Played netball and went swimming
Fun was had by all,
Frilly dresses were worn to Birthday Parties
Ribbons in our hair
We had games galore,
Pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey,
Of cause Musical chairs.
Gone are all those days
For its so different now
With all the world and the technology
Computers in our homes
Still it’s great to have them memories
To tell as we grow old.
