Green Eyed Love

Poem By: raindown
Poetry

The first time I was truely loved, and tasted love, was during the summer of 1995...the poem he sent me was as follows:

Love in an hourglass
Sands that flow
I had it all once
but I let it go

I don't know if he wrote it himself or if he found it somewhere, but I remember It always like his green eyes and it warms me still...I smile. View table of contents...

*****

Green Eyed Love

*****

I walk away determined not to cry, arms wrapped tight

Not really feeling it anyway.

Not until I get home...

*****

Slip out of my clothes that smell of you

And fall to my sheets with your taste upon my lips

The realization that you will be gone, hits

*****

And the breath is sucked from me as I cry.

You woke me in the morning, you came

One last time before hitting the road

*****

Realizing to late that we had touched upon love

We held each other tight,

Then let go of what we just couldn’t keep

*****

I saved some pictures, gave you a few too.

And will always remember that your hazel eyes

Were the purest shade of green, when shining with tears and love.

*****

You eventually sent me a poem, letting me go.

And I wrote to tell you about my new boyfriend, you hated that.

What did we know?

*****

We were summer lovers doomed to part

Allotted a handful of sunsets,

And an hourglass start.

Chukles at your description~hmm, delicious? I'll take it. Okay, yes. Summer love, it was doomed. I had a blast too, ;)
Thanks Terry, rain

It took me two days to get the song attached~but thanks to Nixie I did it~Thanks!

It wouldn't have been such a big deal to me, but it was our song~and I remember looking out the window whenever I heard it, and thinking about him. sigh*

Okay, so there it is. I had to add the song!

This is really cute.

Too bad most of summer relationships end fast...

Yes, well I think I learned alot from it in the end. He was a real sweet guy, ;) ~a good guy. There's a reason they end fast though, they usually begin that way too! lol. Thanks for the 'cute' ;)

Wow Rain.
This song was my song with someone too.
And he had hazel eyes.
And he held me tight.
And then life got in the way.
I'll be back to read this many times.
But first I have to tuck my tears in my pocket.

Aww Peach, gahh! You know, I used to cry when I heard this song~it went away, now I just smile.;) Writing the poem helped too. Sort of my way of keeping something. You can have this one too, if you want~we can share it, ;)

Gee ;) Thanks! Really?

I liked it, it was so personal I wasn't sure if it would be one of those ones that only I could relate to, you know~the one's where your heart and mind fills in any blanks and every line hits home...realy glad you came back;)
