He Loved Me First
My eyes open
To mornings first light,
Remember myself...
He loved me first
He sleeps beside me.
***********************************
Last night he had me beneath
Taken gently by
Him with the dark eyes, dark hair.
****************************************
Defying many
Running away from them even,
A hundred miles an hour he stole us away
****************************************
Gave him more than just
My body and soul,
A thief, a gangster, he took my heart;
****************************************
Young and foolish I
Gave him my body, how could a thug be so suave?
So determinedly, freely
****************************************
He had dimmed down the light, put the music on.
I had watched him from his bed,
covers to my chin, waiting.
****************************************
How he touched my heart
With his gentleness, when he’d asked me if
I was a virgin.
****************************************
Toying with me some
Soothing me mostly with whispers and
A rabbit foot, my lower belly
****************************************
He’ll be distant now,
I’m sure of it
As I stare at his back.
****************************************
His breath is the only sound,
He's fine for sure…my stomach flutters
Then his muscle twitches, hiselbow lifts from his side...
****************************************
His arm inviting my arm from behind,
But how did he know to assuage
my fears of having been used?
****************************************
Slip my arm through his
Pulling my body close, his arm hugs mine.
Close my eyes and breath
****************************************
Even as I know
He’ll not be my last,
It’s enough to know
He loved me first, as
He sleeps beside me.
