Take Nothing

by Shea Ryhai © 2009

*

Don't you know, I'm trying to attain,

nothing - gain nothing from you.

Blurred picture, you all seem the same,

wanting - take something for you.

*

I spread my heart out to feel it bleed,

you don't understand what I need.

I fill a page to break myself free,

wonder if you still think you know me...

*

Laughing faces, mocking voices stinging ring,

screaming - hear nothing from you.

Chocking hands, on my dreams tear off the wings,

crushing - blood rushing to you.

*

Weigh me down with all your bitter hate,

I tried to reach you, but was to late.

You want to blame me for your mistake,

I close my heart up so it won't break...

*

Fairy tales, this Life's a murder scene,

grieving - no tears deceiving you.

Happy endings, mock you behind the screen,

smiling - loneliness is killing you.

*

Dropping roses onto your ghostly face,

once beautiful smile leaves no trace.

This world who killed you feels no disgrace,

so many would envy you your place...

*

Cautious hands, reach out to grip and hold,

loving - hope rushing to you.

Against chains, our love stands so bold,

dreaming - I give believing in you.
