The footsteps in the snow lead to a dead end
Beginning and ending nowhere
We're not starting battles
You've just lost the war

You have such a way with words
The bruises last for weeks
I'd bear the mark gladly
If it were only mine

Say it louder! I can't hear you
Now tell it to the judge
The names in that briefcase
Maybe can't, really  WON'T
Do it for you.

I'll run until the road is my own
Into the woods out of the snow
And the music is there waiting for me

I just hate the way that relationships have become a sort of game. Children also tend to become the pieces.
