Describe yourself as something besides human...

Unique in that it lives the span of a human life in its own solitude...

Never comfortable around other plants…

It actually poisons the soil around it to insure its own peace.

Seen rarely...hidden in the foliage of the rain forest…

Planted deep in the moist soil...

Its beauty is subtle but noticeable to those that care to look.

The long thick stem growing wild in its attempt to curve and reach toward the sky…

It is strong and sturdy on the outside...protecting its tender core...

So fragile…it self protects by wrapping its petals around itself when ground movement is felt.

Come night it springs to life...almost begging to be weeded and tended to…

But don't touch, it is likely to shrivel and die.

It stands alone under the tarp of the trees...just beaming of magnificence.

A water flower to be sure, it thrives in the rain...

As for most plants, it responds when spoken to...

If you are lucky enough to find this rare treasure...

Be sure to take care of it. They are indeed hard to find...

And impossible to bloom in captivity.
