You and I by Khadijah

Poetry By: TaliaBlu

This poem was written by a very close friend of mine. She is a twin and it's about her male twin's early death upon his arrival.

You were supposed to be welcomed with opened arms You never got that chance I never got to see your face I never held your hand We both shared something in common We were both to enter the world at an early time and just so unexpectedly Our differences remain the same; I am here and you're not As a younger child I thought I was the one to blame For a mother's sadness and a father's pain You gave my family a second chance Now my sister holds my hand You brought my family and I ups and downs, tears and joy All about missing a baby boy
