Looking out on the empty theatre, I sigh and grasp at the flowing hem of my skirt. I hear the clock chime midnight; I should have left here hours ago, but everything in me told me to stay. Taking in a breath, I began to dance, as if I were mid-act of the show and so I twirled around, physically contorting and moving in ways that I almost couldn't believe I was capable of. A few minutes later, I looked up, panting for air, seeing then spotlight rain down on me and hearing the roaring applause. When I dance, I almost believe that I'm all by myself.
