LOVE WHILE YOU CAN
Life goes away so quickly that very rarely do we get the opportunity to meditate in the importance of every second in it, life seems so abundant when you are young that we do not stop constantly enough to treasure moments or people as they should be treasured and enjoyed. Basically all that richness that with the withering of time, starts to vanish and be scarce, sadly impulse us to forget the most beautiful feeling that one can feel and give without reproach: "love".
I was twelve when I learnt that lesson, when I learnt that "loving" is something that you must not postergate or hide, that you must show that love because you never know if tomorrow or maybe after I finish writing this precise word, I will be able to give it ever again. I loved my father, I think I knew it very deeply but I was always very busy, a twelve year old girl who really wanted to conquer the world, be the next president, time was in my hands, of course...
My father knew I loved him, I did not say it, I did not hug him. I was very busy attending my priorities, homework needed to be done, I needed to write in my diary and then father was sleeping, but anyway the trunk in which my huge suply of time was kept, acertained me that it always could be done later, he was 46 and I was twelve, after all.
But then one day after I finished school, he was sick, my mom went with him to the hospital, he was pale, he did not come back that night or the night after or ever again. There was no need for words, my uncle's eyes spoke to me with a stabbing silence: "father had died", and then all my time to love him, to hug him, to treasure him, stayed there, in my trunk, full of dust and bitter. I learnt then, that one of the first things you must do with your life and precious time, is to love while you can.
