Myoma Myint Kywe (Burmese: ၿမိဳ ႔မ ျမင့္ၾကြယ္, pronounced [mjo̰ mə-mjɪ̰ɴ tɕwɛ̀]; also U Myint Kywe; born 14 April 1960) is a writer , Karate chief instructor and historian from Burma.

He was awarded the Sarpay Beikman Manuscript Awards First Prize for 2003 in the Belles-Letters category.[1][2] In 2007, he was awarded Myanmar Culture and Fine Arts Literature Prize for 2005.[3][4]

He was youngest son of Myoma U Than Kywe who was the leader of the Panglong conference along with General Aung San that initiated the formation of the new nation of Union of Burma in February 1947.

U Myint Kywe, M.Ed., D.M.E., D.T (Passed with Credit) is a bona-fide member of Myanmar Writers and Journalists Association. His grandfather, U Thaw, first inventor and owner of Myanmar Plate and Dish Manufacturing Factory, was also conferred the title of (T.P.S) by the British Government in 1940 and Naing Ngan Gonyi (First Grade) title by the Government of Union of Burma in 1980.Myoma U Than Kywe was one of the leaders who participated in the struggle for the independence of Burma(1938-1948). He wrote about 150 books on culture, sociology and education.

"Myoma Sayagyi U Ba Lwin (or) Beginner of National Education" and "Special Remarkable Notes of Myanmar Culture and Notes on Youth Affairs" are the famous and the bestsellers of his books.

He was awarded;

  1. Asia Buddhist Literature Prize for 1989 in Singapore
  2. National Manuscript (Belles-Letters) First Prize for 2003 in Myanmar
  3. Myanmar Culture and Fine Arts Literature Prize for 2005 in Myanmar etc.,

He is the founder and chief instructor of Soshiki Karate International since 1978. He is a highly acclaimed writer and historian in Burma. He is the principal of Institute of Karate and Martial Arts Academy.

His wife is Khine Khine Win.  His daughters are Thaw Tar Win and Su Su San.
