"Kara, would you come up to the class and do this problem, please," Kara jerked awake, and looked up at the board "since I know that you've been paying extra attention." Shaking her head, Kara walked to the front of the class. Looking at the question, she turned around to say something to a teacher when all of a sudden the bell rang.
Talk about saved by the bell! "Well, I guess I'll be going now, since class is over and everything." Grinning, she walked out of the class quickly before the teacher could say anything. Right before she got to the bus, a car honked beside her. Kara turned around and looked at the car, and smiled.
"Hey there, Kara. You want a ride home?" There in the car was her savior from the bus, Alex. And some other guy that sort of looked liked him, but a little different. Oh, my, God.
"Oh hell yes. I mean... I don't wanna ride on the bus, with all those... smelly... well you get what I mean."
"Yeah, I get what you mean. Climb in! Hey, this is my brother. Introduce yourself," he said, raising an eyebrow towards his brother.
"Heya... my name's Derrick, and I'm guessing that you're the famous Kara, amiright?" Kara looked at him confused. "You know... it's just... everybody's always-- never mind." Derrick blushed and turned around and looked down at his lap. Chuckling, Alex pointed to the backseat and Kara climbed in still slightly confused.
"So anyways, Kara. Where do you live? Since well I need to know where you live to drop you off," Nodding, Kara pointed at all the turns they needed until they got infront of her house. "Well, I guess this is it. I'll see you later," she said while she got out of the car.
"Yup. Yo Derrick... you gonna say good bye to Kara?" said Alex, looking over at his brother.
"Bye..." said Derrick, quietly, staring at her intently. Kara nodded, and walked over to her house. She didn't look back, but she heard the car drive off. She kept thinking of the way Derrick was looking at her. It just wouldn't leave her mind. Why was he so... nervous looking? Oh well... Doesn't matter anyways.
