Captain William J. Marsh sailed this boat for 2 years, but knew the harsh ways of the sea very well, that's why tonight confused him. They departed that afternoon on a one week cruise, and the waters were calm and still. Almost lifeless. He believed that the ocean had a spirit. It knew when something terrible was going to happen. It also had mysterious ways to turn the tides of any situation.
" Captain, sorry to have disturbed you, but dinner is in ten minutes." said Charles Fermente. He hated his job. He could be anything and be unhappy. He's tried tons of jobs, but could never keep one, or hated it so much that he was forced to quit. His frown lines had frown lines. He knew he would live alone forever and be a miserable person. He gave up on life. What was there to be happy about? After this cruise he was going back to his bleak and boring life.
" No disturbance my boy! Thanks for telling me! Go on with your duty!" said the captain. Everything he said was cheery. Life on the sea is where he was happiest. Nothing could really make his attitude go south. Charles left the room, head bowed low. A few minutes later as the captain was about to leave there was another knock at the door.
"Charles?" asked the captain, confused by someone being on the main deck, so close to dinner time.
" Hello Captain William Marsh. If you cooperate with me your life will not be in peril, and I will not have to kill you. If you choose to be uncooperative, I can make this quick."
The captain said nothing, looked in to the cruel eyes of the dark sky with the almost silent sound of the waves hitting the ship. He looked back at the barrel of the gun pointing straight at his chest.
" What can I do for you?"
