Chapter: 8
Recap: He opened the door and led me out it felt so good to feel the sun again I smiled for the first time out of happiness.
I looked around to take in my surroundings there was a large meadow about 14 feet long and at the edge was a forest of trees that’s what my boundary is that’s how far I could get away. I turned and looked at Jake he was smiling “Now that face right there is a lot better than last night. You’re wearing that beautiful smile that can light up the city of New York.” I was speechless he was acting so much nicer to me how long will this act last? “OK go on walk around I will be back in an hour or so remember don’t pass the trees or there will be consequences. Got it?” “Yes sir.” I walked a few feet and then just laid and soaked up the warm May sun it was beautiful being out side. After I was sure Jake was inside I ran towards the edge of the field the trees seemed to be in a straight line it was very peculiar. I didn’t have enough courage to cross it so I started to walk back when I heard a voice it sounded very familiar it sounded like… like JAKES! I looked around but he was nowhere to be found so I just shrugged it off for now. I sat in the field and looked at the trees for a while “Don’t think about it princess.” It was Jake again he wasn’t anywhere near me “who’s there!” I yelled “I’m very proud of you for listening to me and not crossing the edge to the woods.” I then figured out where he was in the necklace that sick twisted man spying on me so much for my own space! No wonder I couldn’t open it he rigged it; there was probably a microphone and camera in side I lost all the respect I had for him then.
“Come on back to the house Hailey I have a surprise for you.” I lost all control spying on me and keeping me here was all that I could take. I went with my heart and used this as my chance to runaway I took off my necklace with my good hand and threw it back towards the house. Once it was gone so was I, I ran towards the woods and crossed the tree border and ran into the woods that hopefully lead to an escape. It got dark quickly and only having one good arm wasn’t helping at all. After dark I tripped over at least 8 roots, vines and other obstacles while trying to run away. I was getting tired and becoming thirsty but I needed to leave and get away from Jake. I heard noises that made me scream I was sure that Jake could hear them and find me I wanted to make sure he never found me. I was too tired to continue at one point so I sat down against a tree and fell asleep. I dreamed of freedom away from Jake back home with my family and friends drooling over the cute boys at school. Did they even miss me? Of course they must do or do they really? I was awakened by the sound of a twig snapping, I jolted upright and looked around nothing moved around me and no was looked to be coming. I felt something touching my leg I looked down it wasn’t Jake who was touching me but a big hairy black spider I tried to keep calm but fear got the best I jumped up but before I could flick it off I felt to fangs stick right into my leg. NO! This wasn’t supposed to happen I was going to leave and get away but now no! No! No! Am I going to die I thought to myself! The spider crawled off and ran up the tree my leg was in excoriating pain and I couldn’t walk I was sure Jake was going to catch me now. I couldn’t stay awake much longer sleep drifted over me. When I re awoke I was in Jakes arms in the woods he was carrying me. That means he found me and I was stuck here forever and always will be. I looked down at my leg where I had gotten bit was covered in what looked like Jakes shirt. I then looked at him he was focused on walking and not on me so I acted like I just woke up “Ja...Jake??” I whispered he looked at me and moved some hair out of my face “Hey princess you ok?” he asked “M...my leg it hur...hurts.” I mumbled out “its ok were almost home and I’ll fix it ok?” I nodded and closed my eyes and drifted to sleep and never wanting to wake up.
