A Deceptive Facade

Poetry By: inmyheart
Mystery and crime

A poem that brings to mind that not everyone is who they seem.

As a summer breeze whistles through the air,

You lay beside me without a care.

Into your soul my eyes bore,

Seeing your life and knowing you more.

But with the knowledge comes realisation,

And then comes the consolidation,

That instead of being filled with pure perfection,

Your life is riddled with deception.

When faced with a good and bad decision,

Unavoidable circumstances blur your vision,

Not believing that you're doing wrong,

You continue hurting me, your words so strong.

Whenever your face lights up into a smile,

It sets me free from the pain for a while,

Blinding me from the essential fact,

That it's my fault that I don't react.

And once my spirit has risen above,

This world that is so deprived of love,

A game that only you can win,

Will once again begin.
