Angie
Tis ‘ this time of year, I pause hold my breath.
Then slowly exhale as the thoughts in my head
Turn to Angie, who is no longer here.
She left a daughter, for whom her mother cares.
I will always remember Angie, as the year comes to a close
Outgoing and sociable, everyone knows.
That those years ago her relationship failed
She left her ex- partner and moved away
He met her in the street one Saturday
Asked her to visit his home, yes he lured her there
Friends and relations warned her not to go
No one is sure what happened, but everyone knows
That Angie died that same Saturday night
Her ex, told how if he couldn’t have her, he’d take her life
Brutally murdered in cold blood.
That’s how he treated the woman, he claimed to love.
I will never forget Angie and who she was to me
The smiling face you’re always happy to see.
I hope her spirit has rest in peace, and think of her all the time.
More so I will never ever forget how she died, a victim of domestic crime!
Remembering Angie, a victim of domestic
