Domestic violence has reached a dangerous level, when the abuse is destroying a family.

Beat me quietly

I saw a picture in my mind, a woman timid, fearful all the time; a family so many tears,

Seems it's been happening for many years!

She is in the shop and as she is being served a growling voice, disrespectful can be heard,

He asks for beer and cigarettes and shouts to hurry, seems most upset.

Timid fearful woman versus growling angry man, so afraid to ask for help and she is not the only one.

So many suffer silently, dark glasses in winter or at night, tells their story.

Others tell themselves there's no escape from the evil fist of torture, hate!

No relatives or friends can intervene, because they cannot visit you thanks to Mr. Mean.

Tragically for others this ends bad, there are children left with no mothers, and a "jailbird" dad!

So tell someone, confide if even in a stranger; let them know your life's in danger.

Make no excuses for a coward thug, who beats you in frustration, undervalues you as a person; makes you a personal slave and uses you for self gratification before destroying your confidence, he must never play the music to which you are forced to dance!

Mental torture too is abuse, the verbal obscenities that are meted out to you.

Hostile and vulgar, intimidating to say the least; time for the sufferers of all abuse to stand firm, dig deep for that one bit of confidence to make this "thing" cease!

Don't be a statistic.
