A pure white carpet

Of freshly fallen snow,

Which hides the dark evil earth

Of the newly dug grave.

A search taking place,

A missing child,

Nowhere to be seen.

Tears of pain fall

From adult eyes;

Guilt stabs the heart,

Why did they turn away?

Their attention blind

Just for a split second,

This was all it took.

Living with regrets,

No-one can turn back the clock,

The child lost forever in time,

Lives forever

Within so many hearts.
