THE LAST KNOWN VICTIM OF JACK THE RIPPER 1888.

Who ever murdered
Mary Kelly must
Have hated women

To a great degree,
Whores especially,
Born in poverty,

In London's East End
Eighteen eighty-eight.
Who ever did that

Mutilation, must
Have had deep hate
Burning inside them,

A disarranged mind
Stalking in the dark,
Preying on women

Of a certain kind.
What man, what sick mind,
Could have murdered so?

No one knows for sure,
The finger pointed
In all directions

At this man and that,
While Mary's body
Rots in its sad grave,

Her spirit knows now
Who did that sad deed,
Knows the prime reason,

And walks on dark nights,
Ghostly, now and then,
Not out of hatred,

Or seeking revenge,
But to give warning
To other women

Who walk the dark streets,
To listen for sounds
Of soft muffled cries

Which hang in the air
As the darkness dies.
