ExT. Street outside Home - Night
Three dark figures are hunched down in the bushes outide a two-story suburban home. They appear to be waiting for something.
They are dressed in black from head to toe with ski MASKS hiding their faces. FIGURE1 motions the other two men towards the back of the house and they make their way across the back lawn.
FIGURE1
Alright, you stay here and keep watch, we're going to head inside. You in go first and clear the ground floor and I'll head upstairs and grab the kid.
FIGURE2 shivs the LOCK to the back patio door and he and FIGURE1 enter.
Int. Boy's HOUSE - Ground floor - night
The two men can hear the sounds of the TV coming from the LIVING ROOM. The FATHER is passed out with the REMOTE still in his hand. The light from the TV is the only light they see on the ground floor.
FIGURE1 motions FIGURE2 towards the living room and makes his way towards the STAIRS.
INt. bOY'S HOUSE - Boy's bedroom - night
FIGURE1 enters the boy's bedroom. The small NIGHLIGHT beside the boy's bed lights the room. The BOY is around eight years old. He quietly sneaks toward the BOY's BED and the boy turns over, his EYES opening slighly.
BOY
Dad?
(rubs eyes)
FIGURE1 puts his hand over the boy's MOUTH and picks him up. The two struggle but FIGURE1 is able to get him out the DOOR.
FIGURE2 is tying the father to the chair, TAPE over his mouth. You can hear the father's muffled screaming as the two intruders speed out the door with the boy in hand.
You can see the fear in his eyes, the heart break.

INT. Will's shack - MORNING
WILL SHERIDAN, 30, wakes in a small cot to the LIGHT shining in through a small window. He's wearing ragged clothes with the normal bed hair.
He sits up and places his BAREFEET on the cold stone floor. He rubs his eyes, stands up, stretches and throws on a dark JACKET sitting on the chair across the room. He runs an old comb through his hair quickly and heads outside.

Dan
Morning Sheridan, you want some tea?
WILL
(takes the tea cup)
Morning Dan, Thanks, are you running The Sanctum this morning?
dan
Yea, I was just about to go ring the bell to wake up the STUDENTS.
WILL
Alright.
WILL ducks his head in a tired manner and Dan places his HAND on WILL's shoulder.
dan
Everything okay?
WILL
Just a little tired.
dan
Why don't you head back to bed, we can keep things running. We can handle ourselves.
(chuckles slightly)
WILL
No its alright ...we've got an important job tonight that we REALLY need to prepare for. Thanks though, you're a good friend.
Will takes a sip of his tea and Dan heads out to The Sanctum.
EXT. THE SANCTUM - Main Area - mORNING
Dan stands on the raised platform, in the same clothes and jacket as WILL has on.
dan
Good morning students, let's begin.
(Pauses, lowers head)
Dan (CONT'D)
May the Divine Essence of the Cosmic, infuse my being and cleanse me of all IMPURITIES of mind and body ...that I may enter the Celestial Sanctum, and COMMUNE in pureness and worthiness. So MOTE it be!
As he reads the camera pans revealing the students.
They are children, all young, around between eight to fourteen years old. They are all sitting cross-legged with their head bowed and their HANDS out.
Dan continues to talk in the background as we focus on WILL who is heads into the other BUILDING on the opposite side of The Sanctum.
INT. - MAIN HEADQUARTERS - morNING
WILL walks into the main headquarters, there is a large table at the center with chairs surrounding it. Around the outside are desks with computers, some filled with men and woman. A few people stand around the table talking and all turn quickly towards WILL when he enters. They all find a seat and shut they're mouths.
WILL
Good morning everyone, what do you got for me?
LANCE HULS, 23, hands Will a manila FOLDER filled with papers.
WILL (CONT'D)
So what can you tell me about him?
Lance
His name is ERIC STRUCK, 9, he lives down the mountain in town. His bedroom is on the second floor on the backside of the house. We'll have to enter through the side door by the garage, its hidden from the street.
WILL
How well does he fit into The Ancestry?
ALLISON Bly, 28, points to one of the papers in the folder.
ALLISON
He's one step off of the bloodline.
WILL
Sounds promising. What's the best way for us to enter?
Lance
Well the boy's father is off on business, so only is mother is home. The mother's bedroom is across the hall, they should both be asleep by the time we arrive. We should be in and out without confrontation.
Will
Good work rookie, maybe there is still hope for you.
Will playingly slaps Lance on the ARM and Lance gives him an innocent smile.
WILL (CONT'D)
Alright men, Green will be coming with along with me and Lance, brief him after he's finished with meditation. Mark, stay behind and watch the students, make sure they do their readings and meditations.
MARK CALVIN, 42, looks up, as if he hasn't been paying any attention.
MArk Calvin
Aye Aye, captain.
(jokingly)
WILL
We leave at twenty-two hundred hours.
Ext. STRUCK HOME - BACKYARd - Night
Will, Dan, and Lance head toward the house with an exterior light shining on a back DOOR. They crouch down behind a small STONE WALL.
Lance
That's the door we have enter through, it leads into the garage.
WILL
Ready Dan?
Dan nods in agreement and the three pull down their masks and head toward the house. Will picks the lock and the three enter through the garage.
int. Struck Home - Garage - niGHT
The garage is cluttered, boxes through against the wall. There is a SPACE for a car, but its spot lays vacant.
int. sTRUCK HOME - Family Room - niGHT
The men enter into the home quietly, Will and Lance head up stairs, Dan scouts the downstairs.
INT. strucK HOME - Upstairs hallway - nIGHT
Lance and Will head to the end of the hallway, Lance opens the door on the right to see a middle-aged woman, lying, sleeping in her bed.
Will opens the door to the left and we see the BOY in his bed.
Int. STRuCK HOME - FAmily ROOM - niGHT
Dan is searching the room and he finds pictures of the boy and his parents, along with a few pictures of the father in Marine uniform. He picks it up and then puts in back down as Will and Lance come down the stairs. The boy is gagged and thrown over Will's shoulder.
WILL
Lets go.
(in a hushed tone)
At that moment the FATHER comes through the door surprised to see the men. The father immediately grabs Lance and flips him over his shoulder, laying a hard punch into Lance face.
Dan charges the father and he is hit down.
The father quickly reaches for a drawer on pulls out a his GUN and aims it at Will.
Father
Put down my son, or I will shoot.
WILL
Alright, alright ...just relax.
WILL slowly puts down the boy and stands back up with his hands raised. With a slight smirk on his face the father raises the gun and smacks. He blacks out.
Fade in from Black
Int. Struck Home - Family room - momENTS LATER
WILL wakes tied to a chair in the living room, hands behind his back, the father standing over him. Will tightens up pulling on the ropes keeping him bound to the chair.
Father
Good morning.
WILL
Please ...I don't want to hurt your son.
FATHER
Interesting ...what do you want with him?
WILL stares off, not realizing the father was speaking to him. The father SMACKS him across the face, blood forms on WILL's lip.
Father (CONT'D)
I'm taking to you dirtbag, why do you want my son? Who are you?
WILL
I ...I ...I can't tell you.
Father smacks him again, harder this time.
Father
Not good enough. Talk.
Will sits silent, a dazed look in his eyes. The father hits him hard and Will falls to the ground, the chair's legs breaking.
Father (CONT'D)
Answer me!
WILL
Your son is... important
Will can feel the ropes loosening their hold on him.
FATHER
Important? ...Important to what?
Father lays two swift kicks to Will ribs.
WILL
He... He could be very important to ... everyone.
FATHER
What the hell are you talking about?
The father kicks him in the ribs once again, this time breaking Will free from the CHAIR.
Will kicks the father's feet out from under him and the father falls to the ground. WILL rises to his feet, the ropes fall from him.
The father begins to stand but Will grabs his head and knees him square in the nose. The father falls to his knees.
Will grabs a nearby lamp, bashing it HARD onto the fathers head. The father falls to the ground and blacks out.
Will makes his way to the kitchen to see his friends lying on the floor, lifeless. They lay, dead, in their own pools of blood.
He kneels down and places his hand on Dan, a tear in his eye. He realizes he must leave and quickly bolts out the door from which they entered.
COMMERCIAL
Ext. The Sanctum - Main AREA - night
Will stumbles into to The Sanctum coughing up blood and falling to the ground. Mark, who was outside, rushed to Will's aid.
mark
Sheridan, what happened?
Will
Mark... the father... he was home.
Mark helps him up.
Mark
Come on, Ill get you some tea and you can tell me what happened.
Int. gathERING BUILDING - nIGHT
The two men enter into the Gathering Building, Mark helps mark to a seat and goes to get him some tea
Mark
So what happened? Where are Dan and Lance?
WILL
They're... Dead... The father killed them.
Mark
(beat, awestruck)
How did that happen? I ...thought he wasn't going to be home?
WILL
He must've came home early... I'm not sure. He shot them... nearly beat me to death...
Mark
How did you get away?
WILL
He broke the chair and I bashed his head in with a lamp... I just can't believe they're gone. Lance was so young... He didn't deserve that. Our "job" its not meant for kids his age.
mark
Come on Will, he knew what he was getting himself into...
WILL
We forced him to! We force them all into this! This is on us, we are doing this. We aren't helping this world... theses kids... We're destroying them. We aren't getting any closer to our goal, we haven't had a good lead in ages. The boy tonight probably wasn't even worth it. There nothing promising about him... We're just spinning out wheels!
mark
Will! Will! Relax... You've been through a lot tonight. Why don't you take your tea and go lie down. I'll send in Allison to patch you up.
Will seems annoyed but complies and heads out the door.
Mark takes the kettle off the burner and places WILL's cup into the sink. A worried look on his face.
int. Will's Shack - night
Will is lying in bed and Allison is tending to his wounds. She goes to sponge his arm and as soon as he touches it Will cringes in pain.
Allison
Oh ...Sorry.
Will chuckles a little.
WiLL
It's alright Allison.
She smiles and continues.
Allison
So how are you feeling? I heard you yelling earlier.
WILL
Yeah, I'm fine, just a little shaken up.
Allison
You and Dan were good friends?
WILL
Yes... We've been through a lot together. It won't be the same around here without him.
Allison
Yes, the children will miss him greatly I'm sure. They all seem to look up to him.
WILL
He was a good man... I wish we at least had their bodies to bury... They deserve a proper burial.
Int. police station - morque - Day
A young police officer, officer James Burton, 25, stands over the body of Lance with the coroner.
officer Burton
So what can you tell me doc?
Coroner
Officer Burton, so nice to see you.
Officer Burton
Nice to see you too doc... So, who are these guys?
CORONER
Well this one here, after some testing, I've determined to be in his early 20's. He appears to be very healthy, a strong heart and lungs, very fit. The other body has a similar build, he appears to be in his mid 30's. C.O.D. for both bodies is a gun shot to the head.
officer Burton
That would agree with what the father told us. Anything on the bodies that might tell us who they are?
CORONER
No, nothing at all, neither of them had wallets, nothing in their pockets. But I don't find that unusual, you don't really need that when your going to kidnap a child.
officer Burton
What about something that might tell us why they were kidnapping the boy? It appears that they were after more than a ransom.
CORONER
Nothing really... except both men had a picture of the boy in their pockets.
The coroner hands the officer one of the small wallet sized pictures.
officer Burton
So this was obviously well thought out. They knew who they were looking for, they had a plan, which was broken up when the father returned home early.
CORONER
Theres one other thing... a marking
officer Burton
A marking?
CORONER
Yes on both of their right shoulders... It a appears to be a brand of some kind.
The coroner lifts the bodies and shows the symbol, it is a pentagram with lettering inside of each of its points and a leaf-like symbol in the middle. It is obviously a brand, burned clearly into the skin.
officer Burton
Have you ever seen this symbol before?
CORONER
No, but we all know of the pentagram... Often misinterpreted, but when upright it is actually a symbol of faith, and often used to deter evil spirits. But the letters... I'm not sure about those... or the flame, leaf symbol in the middle, but I sent a picture to forensics.
The police officer quickly turns and leaves, leaving the doctor alone.
cORONER (CONT'D)
You're welcome.
Ext. The SANCTUM - main area - Day
WILL stands on the platform in front of the students.
WILL
Alright students, that's it for today. Make sure you do your readings today before class today, and don't forget your meditations before bed.
The children quickly stand up, some run off. Will steps down from the platform and a young girl, Jenny Walton, 13, approaches him.
Will (CONT'D)
Hey, Jenny, what's up?
Jenny
Where is Lance? He always comes and eats breakfast with me.
WILL
(beat, thinking)
Umm... Lance... is... busy dear, he is working on a project for me, he may be off the Sanctum for a few days.
JENNY
I'm not a kid anymore Master Sheridan, I know he went on the extraction last night.
A sad and shameful face comes across WILL's face.
JEnny (CONT'D)
I was wondering if we could bury him by the old tree outside of my dorm. We sat together and talked there a lot. I think it'd be only right.
Will
Sure... Sure Jenny, I can arrange that.
JENNY
Promise?
WILL
(hesitates)
Promise.
JENNY gives him a hug, a worried look is plastered across WILL's face. She walks off. WILL walks toward the Main Head Quarters.
Int. MAIN HEADQUARTERS - day
WILL enters through the door still somewhat in shock. He is spacing out when Allison puts her hand on his shoulder.
Allison
Will?
Will
Sorry... just a out of it. What is it?
Allison
The boy... from last night, I found some new information that could be significant.
The two walk over to a nearby computer, Allison sits down, Will looming over her.
Allison (CONT'D)
I was able to hack into the boy's medical records. It appears when the boy was eight he was diagnosed with a fairly serious brain tumor. He was given three months to live.
Will
And he survived obviously, but how does this help?
Allison
Well the day that the boy was supposed to begin his radiation therapy, the tumor wasn't there. There was no sign that he had ever had one.
WILL
And you think this makes him a stronger candidate?
Allison
Well I'd call a disappearing brain tumor anything but normal. I don't think we can just let him go, I think we're missing a great opportunity.
WILL
No... No... Not now... Its too soon.
Allison
But sir, we don't know how much longer he will be illegible.
WILL
No... Its far too risky... Two of our men were just killed. I'm sure the police are all over that place. Searching every inch of that house.
Allison
But sir!
WILL
Drop it, Alli, this isn't up for discussion. Keep looking.
Will storms off. Allison appears annoyed and returns her eyes to her computer screen.
Ext. Police station - day
Office Burton begins to walk up the stairs into the police station when a man grabs him. The man looks very distressed.
Distressed Man
Do you have two bodies in the morgue?
OffiCER BURTON
Sir, calm down. What's wrong?
DISTRESSED MAN
Two men, do you have two men in the morque?
OFFICER BURTON
Sir, I can't disclose that information.
DISTRESSED MAN
I know you do, I know them, they took my daughter...
COMMERCIAL
int. police Station - Interogation Room - day
We see the distressed man sitting at a table, he's still appears to be very irritated. Officer Burton comes in and stand in front of the man.
OffICER BURTON
Sir, I am Officer James Burton. You're not in trouble. We just want to talk. You said you knew who those men were?
DisTRESSED MAN
Yes, they took my daughter...
OFFICER BURTON
Yes, I know, you said... Why did they take your daughter?
DISTRESSED MAN
I... I... I'm not sure... But I know they did!
His hands are shaking.
OFFICER BURTON
Sir, you want some water or something? Something to help you relax?
DISTRESSED MAN
No... No... I want to see the men... They took my daughter.
OFFICER BURTON
Sir, I understand... But I can't let you see the bodies.
(beat)
What can you tell me about them? You said you knew them?
DISTRESSED MAN
Of course I know them... They took my daughter, I don't see how this is that complicated.
Clearly annoyed Officer Burton sits down quickly in front of the man.
OFFICER BURTON
Sir! I need you to tell me what you know about those men.
The man is startled and complies.
DISTRESSED MAN
Well...many years a ago, two men came into my home... I had just laid down to bed when I heard something in the hallway, I got out of bed and headed towards the hallway when I was attacked from behind. I saw another man take my daughter from her bedroom. It... it goes black after that...
OFFICER BURTON
What makes you think it was these men? How did you know we had their bodies?
DISTRESSED MAN
After they kidnapped my daughter, I never received a ransom note... Anything at all... So I began to wonder, why did they take my daughter? If they don't want money, what do they want?
OFFICER BURTON
That still doesn't answer my question...
DisTRESSED MAN
Let me finish...
(hand shaking)
So I began to look into the police records.
OFFICER BURTON
How did you gain access to the police records?
DISTRESSED MAN
(beat)
I saw that there had been many kidnappings in the area, all very similar to my dauther's. The children were all very young, taken from their beds. Most of these were covered up by you damned pigs... Maybe we would have seen this sooner.
OFFICER BURTON
Sir please calm down.
DISTRESSED MAN
No! I want to see those men! I need to find my daughter!
The man stands up and pushes the TABLE in his frustration. The officer who was standing in the corner quickly rushes the man and restrains him.
OFFICER BURTON
Get him out of here!
DISTRESSED MAN
I want my daughter! I want to see my daughter!
The officer drags the man out of the room, still screaming for his daughter. Burton stands there annoyed, his hands resting on the table.
Int. GaTHERING BUILDING - evENING
Its dinner time all the children are sitting at the tables enjoying their dinner. The room is abuzz with chatter.
Will enters and scanning the room with his eyes. He focuses on Jenny who is siting at a table with her friends, quietly eating as her friends laugh and carry on. He turns away and heads towards Mark who is sitting across the room, and put his hand on his back.
WilL
I need to talk to you...
mark
(turns to the others at the table)
Excuse me.
The two go off to a hallway away from the noise and the wandering ears.
WILL
We need to go back into town.
mark
What? For the boy? Its too risky.
WILL
I agree, but that's not what I'm talking about... We need to get Lance and Dan.
mark
Will... are you alright?
WILL
Yes, we need to give them a proper burial.
Will looks off towards Jenny, who's still sitting quietly.
WILL (CONT'D)
I made a promise.
mark
Are you insane? You want to break into the police station, sneak into the morgue, and steal two bodies, who are probably part of a large criminal investigation?
WILL
I know its risky, but we have too.... They were part of us, part of the family. We can't just forget them.
mark
Will, I know you've been through a lot, but there's enough heat on us already.
WILL
I don't care what you say, I'm doing this with or without you.
Will storms off.
mark
Will... Will!
Int. WiLL'S SHACK - night
Will puts on his shirt, you can see his brand just like Lance and Dan's just before he puts it on. He zips up his dark jacket.
There's a knock at the door.
Will opens the door to see Mark standing in the doorway.
mark
It may be stupid... But its even more stupid alone.
WILL
Good man, lets go.
Ext. The SANCTUM - pATHWAY - night
The two men are walk through the sanctum.
mark
So what's the plan?
They arrive at a large building
WILL
I figured we'd need a ride.
Will opens a garage door and a large black SUV is revealed. The two men smile at each other. Will throws Lance the keys and the two get in.
Int. Car - outside the police station - night
mark
So are we just supposed to waltz out of there with bodies over our shoulders?
WILL
I don't think that would work very well. But the plan is to back up the truck to the back door. It has direct access to the morque. I'll head inside, and you move the truck. We can use these.
WILL pulls out two fake FBI Badges.
mark
Sounds like a plan, we don't use these very often.
Int. POLICE STATION - Main Area - night
Will enters the police station, the place is busy with officers on computers and people being processed. No one seems to acknowledge him.
Will keeps his head down and heads for the back where he see's a sign for the morque. He heads into the hallway and moves quickly.
PolICE OFFICER
Excuse me, you're not supposed to be back here.
A police man came out of a door behind Will.
WiLL
I'm here to see the coroner.
Will flashes his badge.
POLICE OFFICER
Oh... uh, he's right down the hall on your right.
WILL
Thank you.
Will continues on into the morque.
Int. PolICE STATION - morgue - niGHT
CoRONER
Umm.. can I help you?
Will pulls out his badge.
WILL
You have two bodies in your possession. I need them transferred to me.
CORONER
I was never notified...
WILL
That would make sense, this is a very sensitive case. We are trying to keep the number of people involved to a minimum.
CORONER
Oh... Umm, well which bodies are they.
WILL
The two John Doe's from the kidnapping last night.
CORONER
Very well.
The doctor begins to write on a clip board.
CORONER (CONT'D)
So what does the FBI have interest in these bodies?
WILL
I can't disclose that information.
CORONER
Does it have to do with the other kidnappings?
The coroner hands Will the clipboard, but Will ignores the man's question and signs the papers.
INT. POLICE STATION - hallway - niGHT
Will pushes a cart with a body on it down to the end of the hallway where there are two double doors. He pushes through the doors to find Lance on the other side.
Lance
Any problems?
("Shut up")
Will gives him a look as the doctor comes out with another cart.
CORONER
The bureau couldn't get you something better to transfer these?
Lance
Budget cuts.
Lance lays the first body down in the back floor, the back seat is down.
CORONER
Hmm... still seems odd.
Will has a worried look.
WILL
We thought the same thing.
Will helps lift the second body into the back.
CORONER
Can't question the boss... Might just get you in trouble.
They all share a slight chuckle and Will closes the back door.
WILL
Thanks for the help.
Will shakes the coroner's hand, Lance gives him a nod and the two get into the SUV.
Int. poLICE STATION - MORGUE - niGHT
The coroner enters the morgue soon followed by Officer Burton.
OfFICER BURTON
Doc, I need to see those bodies from the kidnapping.
CORONER
Uh... Two agents just came and took them. Said they needed the bodies transferred.
OFFICER BURTON
What? Where did they go?
CORONER
They went out the back, just left.
Burton runs out to the doors to see an empty back lot.
OFFICER BURTON
Damn it.
(under his breath)
CommERCIAL
Ext. The Sanctum - garage - nIGHT
The two pull up in the SUV and get out. A few children and some of the workers greet them.
WiLL
Kids, go back to your rooms, nothing to see here.
Allison comes out to them, clearly irritated.
allison
Where the hell did you guys go?
WILL
We had a little business to attend to. Nothing to worrying about.
allison
Don't give me that, what the did you guys do?
Will doesn't give her an answer and she goes to the SUV. Opens the door to see the two body bags.
allison (CONT'D)
What... What the hell?... Is that Dan and Lance?
Will
We couldn't just leave them there, we had to bring them back.
allison
You were yelling at me just a few hours ago about how much heat is on us! Now you go break into a police station, and steal two bodies from a high profile crime! What the hell Will?
WILL
He was my best friend, he deserves a proper burial! They were there because of me, I caused this!
allison
Are you nuts? We all know how dangerous this can be! We're not stupid, you don't make anybody do anything. We do this because we need to!
Will backs off, and turn his back on her.
Lance
This is not anyone's fault, the past couple days have been stressful for all of us. What's done is done, there's nothing we can do about it now. We all just need some rest.
Will runs off in a furious fit. Mark gets in the SUV to move it and Allison comes to the window.
allison
I'm worried...about Will...he's different. I don't know what it is... but he's not acting like himself. He's on edge.
mark
He was nearly beat to death... Two of our men died, he saw them laying in their own blood. Something like that changes a man. We all are under a lot of stress, we've haven't had a new recruit in who knows how long. He just needs some rest... We all do.
allison
I hope so, we can't afford to lose him too.
Int. POLICE STATION - day
Officer Burton enters the police station when a woman officer comes up to him.
offICER RIVERIA
The FBI is here, they're in your office.
OffICER BURTON
What? Why?
offICER RIVERIA
I think they're here about the bodies from the kidnapping.
OFFICER BURTON
Did you tell them they were stolen?
offICER RIVERIA
No, I thought they should here from you.
OFFICER BURTON
(annoyed)
Uh... Alright... Thanks.
Burton enters his office to see a man sitting in the chair across from his desk and a woman looking out the window.
Agent reynolds
Officer Burton, I'm Agent John Reynolds and this Agent Rachel York.
Burton shakes both their hands and then sits at his desk.
OFFICER BURTON
How can I help you agents?
AGENT York
We're here about the bodies from the kidnapping attempt at the Struck house.
AgenT REYNOLDS
We're taking over the investigation... We've noticed these kidnappings have been going on for almost 20 years now.
OFFICER BURTON
Yea, we've come to that conclusion as well... but... there's a problem.
The two agents lean in in anticipation.
OFFICER BURTON (CONT'D)
Last night... the bodies were stolen from the morgue.
AGENT REYNOLDS
What? How does someone just march in and steal two bodies from a police station?
OFFICER BURTON
Well you can talk the coroner, but he said they had FBI badges.
AGENT YORK
So somebody already came to take the bodies. What makes you think they were stolen?
OFFICER BURTON
This.
Burton reaches into his desk and pulls out a manila folder. Agent Reynolds opens the folder and reveals the face of Will Sheridan from a surveillance camera.
OffICER BURTON (CONT'D)
We were able to grab that image just before he left with the bodies. We weren't able to get a clear image of the accomplice. But we showed this picture to the, Ed Struck, the father from the kidnapping attempt and he was able to confirm that this is the man that broke into his home with the two other men.
AGENT YORK
So these guys are organized, and know what they're doing.
OFFICER BURTON
Exactly, we believe that they are part of a larger group that has been ongoing for years now, since those first kidnappings, possibly before.
Agent REYNOLDS
So do you have any leads as to why they're kidnapping these kids? Who they are? Why they stole back these bodies?
OFFICER BURTON
All we have is this brand that was found on the two bodies' right shoulder.
Officer Burton places a photo of the brand on the desk.
Agent YORK
Any idea what the symbol means?
OFFICER BURTON
No, we weren't able to find anything on that yet. But were working on that now.
AGENT REYNOLDS
We're going to need everything you have on this case.
OFFICER BURTON
Wait... You're taking me off the case?
AGENT REYNOLDS
This is now the FBI's case, you are not authorized to continue this investigation.
OFFICER BURTON
You can't just come in here and steal all the work we've done.
AGENT REYNOLDS
I'm afraid me can. We'll need everything by tomorrow. That's not a problem is it?
OFFICER BURTON
No...
The two agents leave, leaving Burton sitting as his desk angrily.
Int. ClaSSROOM - dAY
Will is standing at a chalk board in an empty classroom writing today's schedule on the board. Allison enters, with a worried look.
Allison
Will, you need to come see this...
WILL
What's wrong?
AlLISON
Just come...
Ext. thE SANCTUM - MAIN AREA - DaY
Allison and Will run in to see a group of kids standing around something.
AlLISON
Kids, get out of the way.
The two push their way through the crowd and see a child, Rebbecca, 10, laying on the ground, motionless.
WILL
What happened?
They all stand quietly.
WILL (CONT'D)
What happened here?!
STUDENT #2
We were just doing our mental exercises when she collapsed.
WILL
Alright, everyone go back to your rooms, get ready for class.
The kids move off.
WILL (CONT'D)
Come on, let's take her into the infirmary.
Int. Infirmary - day
Will Carries the Rebecca in and Allison prepare the bed and Will lies her down.
AllISON
We should give her some fluids.
Allison hooks up an IV and Will puts his hands on the back up his head.
WILL
This is exactly what we need...
ALLISON
Will, relax... She's stable, I'm not sure what happened, but she's should be alright.
WILL
Why do think this happened?
ALLISON
Not sure, could be anything. You think it had anything to do with their exercises?
WILL
If they're following their routines nothing should have gone wrong.
AllISON
Well she looks healthy, I'm not sure what it could be.
WILL
Maybe they're biting off more they can chew.
AlLISON
Its possible... Do you really think that's what happened? We warned them about what would happen?
WILL
They're kids Bly, when you tell them not to do something, they're going to give it a try.
AlLISON
What should we do?
WILL
Well I would hope after this, they get why we told them not to. I'll talk to them today in class. Keep an eye on her, let me know if anything changes.
Will walks out, Allison runs her hand through Rebecca's hair.
Int. ClasSROOM - dAY
Will enters the classroom which is filled, and all the kids are up talking and carrying on.
WILL
Seats!
All the kids quickly get to their seats. Will moves up front and paces quietly in front of the students.
WILL (CONT'D)
So... We've told you all before, stick to the exercises we give. If you stray off path and try to do things you're not ready for. This is what happens... Where did you hear about these exercises?
The students sit quietly.
WILL (CONT'D)
Now no one has anything to say...
Silence.
Kevin
We found a book in your shack.
Kevin Bell, 15, appears in the back of the room.
STUDENT #2
Kevin!
kevin
We were curious...
Will
Mr. Bell... Can I speak to you outside.
Kevin gets up and heads out the door.
WILL (CONT'D)
No talking.
Ext. ThE SANCTUM - Outside Classroom - daY
Will heads out the door and shuts it behind him. Kevin stands there with his head down.
WILL
Kevin... What were you thinking?
kevin
We just wanted to try it.
WILL
We warned you about what would happen.
kevin
I know.
Will
Which book was it?
kevin
I don't know, it was a black one.
Will gets a very worried look.
WILL
I'm very disappointed in you Kevin, You are the oldest here, the other kids look up to you. You're supposed to be setting an example.
kevin
I'm sorry Master Sheridan...
WiLL
Where is the book now?
kevin
In my room.
WILL
Go get it and bring it to me.
Kevin leaves, and Will heads into the classroom.
Int. ClasSROOM - day
Will enters to the quiet classroom.
Will
Class Dismissed.
The kids quietly get up and begin to exit.
Ext. OFFICER'S BURTON Home - night
A small suburban home sits quietly in the moonlight. A police squad car sits in the driveway.
We pear in through the window to see a Officer Burton.
Int. officer Burton's home - nIGHT
Burton sits on his couch with his laptop placed on the coffee table in front of him. Files are spread all over.
He takes a sip of coffee and with a deep exhale he runs his hands through his hair. In an angry fit he closes the laptop and sits back.
He sits quietly for a moment when a dark figure slowly comes into view.
He stands up and a fight ensues. Burton throws a few punches and the figure blocks them. He obviously knows how to fight.
The figure then flips Burton over his shoulder and throws him down onto the coffee table crushing it, papers flying everywhere. Burton is stunned, but the figure lays a swift punch to his face and Burton blacks out.

Int. Mark's Shack - DAY
There's a knock at Mark's door, he opens the door to see Will standing in the doorway.
WILL
We need to talk.
(enters)
Mark
What's wrong?
WilL
Did you hear about Rebecca?
MaRK
I heard she collapsed and shes in some kind of coma. Why?
WILL
They found my Retrospection book. They tried some of the exercises.
MARK
What? And you think that caused her to go into a coma?
WILL
Yes, I think it could cause some more problems.
Mark
Like what?
WILL
I'm not sure, this stuff its unpredictable. But it could be anything. I just don't see anything good coming out of this. We need to keep an eye out on these kids. We don't have many left anymore, and with the way this world is it doesn't look very promising that we'll find anymore. No one has any morals anymore, just doing whatever the hell...
MaRK
Will... We'll figure this out. We have some possibilities we can look into.
WILL
I'm not sure another extraction is what we need right now. With the large investigation going on down there and us going in and taking back those bodies, there's too much heat on us right now. We need to strengthen the children we have now.
Mark
Sounds like a solid plan, but you should probably lock up your books.
Mark chuckles and walks out, Will follows.
Int. POLICE STATION - day
Officer Riveria sits at her desk when Agents Reynolds and York enter.
AGENT REYNOLDS
We're here for everything you got on the Struck case. Where's officer Burton?
OFFICER RIVERIA
Umm... I'm not sure where he's at, he hasn't come in. Uhh... I'll get the files for you.
Riveria walks over to a filing cabinet and ruffles through the pages. She seems to be taking a long time.
AGENT REYNOLDS
Is there a problem?
OFFICER rIVERIA
I can't find them, they're not here...
AGENT yorK
Are you serious? What kind of police department are you?
Officer rIVERIA
Burton must have checked them out, I'll check his office.
Riveria leaves into Burton's office. Agent York gives Reynolds a weird look.
AGENT YORK
What the hell is wrong with these people?
AGENT REYNOLDS
This is ridiculous.
OfFICER rIVERIA
They're not here, they must be at his home.
Agent York walks off in anger.
AGENT REYNOLDS
We'll take it from here.
Ext. offICER'S BURTON home - day
The two agents exit the Federal SUV and walk up to the front door. Reynolds knocks.
AgENT REYNOLDS
Officer Burton.... Officer Burton, its Agents Reynolds and York.
Reynolds pulls out his gun, York does the same. She give him a nod and he finds the door to be unlocked.
Int. OFFICER BURTON'S HOME - day
The two enter.
Reynolds motions York up the stairs. Reynolds heads down the hallway to the kitchen.
Int. OfFICER'S BURTON homE - kitchen - day
There's nothing suspicious. We opens the back door and finds nothing.
INT. OfFICER BURTON'S HOME - living room - day
He move through into the living room to see the broken coffee table.
AGENT REYNOLDS
York!
York enters, seeing the damage, the two holster their weapons.
AGENT YORK
Upstairs is clear... Looks like there was a fight. Lamps knocked over.
AGENT REYNOLDS
Any sign of breaking and entering?
AGENT YORK
No, looks clean. Maybe it was someone he trusted.
AGENT REYNOLDS
Or someone good... I wasn't about to find anything either.
AGENT YORK
Maybe we can get something off his laptop. The hard drive could still be good. I'll get tech on it.
AGENT REYNOLDS
Does he live alone?
AGENT YORK
Looks like it, no pictures of family anywhere.
AGENT REYNOLDS
Lets get a team in here.
Int. PoLICE STATION - day
Riveria bursts into the morque where the coroner is doing an autopsy. He quickly looks up.
OFFICER RIVERIA
The FBI just called, they said James is missing. Looks like there was a fight in his home.
CoRONER
Oh... Wow... Do you think it could have been the same men who came in here and stole the bodies?
OFFICER rIVERIA
That's what I was thinking. I don't know who these guys are or who they work for, but they're digging themselves a deep whole. What do you think they want?
CORONER
I'm not sure, there's a lot of nuts out there. Could be any number of reasons why. Were you able to find anything out about the symbol on their shoulders?
OffICER RIVERIA
No, but it seems to be some kind of occult symbol.
CoRONER
So you think it might have some kind of spiritual meaning?
OfFICER rIVERIA
Maybe, but were not really supposed to continue the investigation. The FBI has taken it.
CORONER
Got to love those feds.
(beat)
But that's hasn't stopped us before.
Riveria smiles and leaves the coroner to his work.
Int. Reynold's Hotel room - day
Agent Reynolds sits at a table with a laptop. Burton's hard-drive is hooked up to it. Agent York enters with two cups and a fast food bag. She places them on the table and sits down with him.
AGENT YORK
Were you able to get anything off is piece of junk?
AGENT REYNOLDS
Looks like he was doing some research on the case.
AGENT YORK
Anything useful?
AGENT REYNOLDS
Nope, looks like he was at the same place we are.
AgeNT YORK
Damn it... What the hell is up with this case... Do you think he was attacked?
AGENT REYNOLDS
Yeah, looks like this intruder knew how to fight. The intruder from the Struck case knew how to fight too. The father was an ex-marine and he was able to knock him out.
AGENT YORK
So you think it was the same guy?
AGENT REYNOLDS
Possibly... but even if it is, why would he feel the need to kill or kidnap Burton? What's the angle?
AGENT YORK
Maybe he's looking for something? An answer?
AGENT REYNOLDS
To what?
AGENT YORK
I don't know...
AGENT REYNOLDS
Alright, so we know they're after young children, and they aren't looking for money...
AGENT YORK
And the father said the intruder said his son was important, or could be important. Whatever that means.
AGENT REYNOLDS
So they're looking for a certain kid, but they're not sure who it is, so they just kidnap whatever kids they can?
AGENT YORK
Sounds like a bunch of psychopaths to me.
Reynolds nods in agreement, and leans back in his chair.
AGENT REYNOLDS
Post the guys mug and hopefully we can get something from that.
AGENT YORK
Alright, I'll make it happen.
York dials her phone and then leaves out the door.
Reynolds shuts the laptop and lets out a huge exhale.
Ext. The SANCTUM - evENING
A dirt pile grows as Will adds to it. The hole is about up to his chest. Allison walks up with a glass of water in hand.
AlLISON
Need so
