Darkness within :Urge For the first time in a year I feel it. It hits me, my day off I'm sat in a coffee shop (keeping up appearances, you never know if their watching! You can't know what they know until its too late) when it creeps up on me. I look down into the swirling blackness, my coffee. A couple laugh behind me (what are they laughing at? Me? My clothes? They know something I don't know) I get up, close my book and leave through the door and into the sun. (Gotta get back) I start to walk home my head is swimming its just like before. There so much to do, much to plan and who to choose? A guy crosses in front of me his knee knocks the bag in my hand to the ground he stops for a second and looks at me as if he expects and apology. Silently, I kneel down and collect my shopping. He turns away and continues to walk. my eyes burn into his back. He's young, younger than me, dyed blonde hair and a perfect tan. The girl he's with clings to his every word her eyes never shift from his face he's clearly one of the popular boys with his trendy clothes and shoes. (He's a candidate, might even pass the screening process) I get back up and continue home smiling as I walk as if all is normal. I can't let the face fall away and the one within to emerge... it takes so much energy to hold this up. I get to the building just as the ideas start to ferment. I slide the key in the door and make my way up the stairs to my apartment. The boy from next door is playing in the hall his trucks scattered across the floor like a horrific storm had torn them from the road! I step over them To get to my apartment. as I fumble for the key the boy stands and asks "are you a vampire?" I stop what I'm doing and turn to face him. his small head tilted up at my face with an expression of innocent curiosity "why do you ask?" I reply "because your always out at night and its soo quiet in your place at daytime. Are you a bad vampire?" As I slide the key into the door I tell him "I'll let you know" the door swings shut behind me and as it closes I feel the weight slip off, the mask unravels and the stupid grin falls off with it, I take a breath and soak up the moment! Finally away from prying eyes in this apartment...my sanctuary there's no need for false emotion or shallow grins. In here I can be me safe from societies eyes, ears and minds. I walk into the living room, it's such a large and spacious area nicely decorated and designed if I say so myself! Yet not a single soul has seen it since I moved in. When I have the urge this room becomes my nerve centre so I can complete the project (the hunt?) pictures on the board, sketches and blue prints strewn across the table (only for the special cases) just thinking about it gets me in the mood. First we pick someone! There was the guy in the street, his over confidence and macho image would make him easier. Plus he's a local I've seen him before, so he wouldn't be hard to find. there was also the girl in the coffee shop before the urge hit me. She was sat by the window..alone..her hands wrapped around the cup, shoulders hunched together and her head down as if she doesn't want to be seen, but I always see. Watching her from across the room I could really see her, she was like a doe in the forest, so gentle and natural she emitted such tranquility. The perfect target for a wolf. But I don't know her name I haven't seen her before! Asking would be to risky she can wait for another time! The guy will do. We have our target time for our plan. Being a Killer is a hard life!
