Short Story by N B Page
Posted: Jan 7, 2008
I wrote this in late 1990. I tried to capture the...
N. B. Page, born in Prague in 1966, largely ignored an extensive education on the Atlantic coast of those once (and future?) united states. On the eve of his 21st year he set off for the California Gold Coast where for a decade and a half he made his way as a Mercenary, Pornographer, and Priest as well as sometime purveyor of intoxicating potions in the company of madmen and saints; artists and whores; hermaphrodites and thieves; sodomites and tycoons. Having thoroughly enjoyed his full measure of corrupting body, virtue, and soul N. B. decided to return to the bosom of Prague.
Among his accomplishments prior to coming home were being invited to leave some of the most prestigious learning institutions in Waterbury, Connecticut, sailing (and sinking in) New England, French, and Californian waters in high seas and fair, teaching the down and out, and burglarizing brothels. However sometime during the waning years of the recent millennium and into the wee hours of this one he rediscovered the boyhood passions for photography and for writing.
Today he lives still in his natal city with his devilishly handsome son, B. B. Page; the most magically beautiful baby girl, his daughter M. B. Page; and the light of his life and darling wife, L. Page. He passes his time seducing and coaxing photons into his lens, changing diapers, and writing nonsense.
