Elementary School killing spree (by Jeff Schrembs 2012 All Rights Reserved)

Page 1, Jeffrey Schrembs writes an original article about the shootings, and death, which occurred today (December 14, 2012) in Connecticut at an elementary school.

Today, December 14, 2012, in Connecticut at an elementary school Adam Lanza (20 years old), a son of a Teacher, went on a killing spree shooting anyone in sight killing 26 people 18 of which were children.

My God this news, these facts, and these deaths are unfathomable yet they occurred.

Schools, with elementary schools especially, should beplaces of; learning, social interacting, structure, and most of all…safety. The events of today have shattered these points, individually and collectively, and changes will need to beimplemented (on a local, State, and Federal basis) to ensure that this never happens again.

More importantly is the fact that people are having to cope with the nightmare reality that their beloved daughter, or son, or both…are dead. It sickens me – hurts my very soul – and I will pray for each of these parents and each person who has been adversely effected (not only this day but each day hereafter) by the evil that played out today.

As a parent I worry about my children everyday. I think about them, I pray for them. I love them. I would never want anything to happen to them and I would, literally, give my own life for theirs (as I would do for any child).

Children are the renewal, and blessing from God, of the human race.

For all of our shortcomings, which are many, God grants us the gift of life without any guarantee of length and/or of quality. There is no greater visual testament to God than seeing the miracle of a child being born – taking it’s first breath – seeing the mother torn between pain and unconditional love – and holding them close to you.

Words don’t have to be spoken for love binds us to our children and we do what we can to keep them safe. Yet, in times such as these, we view through screens the photographs – the journalist reporting – and we get upset (as we should) and we question…”why”?

I have always said that evil people, and their acts, cannot be defined by questions of “why”?

I do not know this killer by anything other than his first and last name but I know that what he did is (including but not limited to) evil personified.

He is an abomination to what we believe in. What we hope for. What we feel. What we care about.

There will surely be those who will want “gun control” and there should beconstructive debate about this…but not now. Now should bereserved for; supporting, caring, praying, loving, comforting, and doing whatever we can for those who tragically sent their children off to school today (as so many do) never thinking for a moment that their world would be turned upside down and they would be enduring a horror that will never, ever, be…forgotten.

I am so very sorry for these victims. I am so very sorry for their children. I am so every sorry for the Teachers and staff. I am so very sorry for the relatives. I am so very sorry for the friends and neighbors. And I am so very sorry for those in Connecticut and every child around this world.

For in this day we are awakenedto a new reality, even while the scars (mentally and physically) of other killers’ who shot and killed innocent people are still fresh and will never truly heal, one that will change us in ways that we currently cannot even imagine.

I will be praying for these victims and their loved ones and for everyone associated. I wish I could do more but I will commit to do what I can. These words may never reach anyone affiliated with this terrible ordeal but I know that my prayers, and those of others, will reach the ear of God and have long before I started typing this article.

Included in my prayers will be asking that these children will one daybe reunited, for eternity, with their family and loved ones. That their wounds, and those of their family and loved ones, go away and is replaced with the knowledge that true love exists long after we leave this world physically.

The victims, their family, their loved ones, neighbors, community, school, and the nation will need; time to grieve, time to mourn, time to question, time to cry, time to recover, time to rely upon others, time to seek justice, time to comfort and be comforted, and most of all they need all the love humanly possible for those near…and from us all.

I will pray that God grants them this along with the strength to…go on…one minute of one day at a time.

We owe it to these victims, to their family and loved ones, and to future generations to ensurethat schools are 100% safe…starting right now. Even if it means implementing metal detectors, and undercover armed police (in sufficient numbers), with “pat downs” at every doorway. This may be an inconvenience but (sadly) this is necessary for if the son of a Teacher can go on a rampage, as he did today, how else could we possibly have minimized the victims?

While I entertain this thought the other 99% go out to the victims and their family and loved ones. I am sorry for all you are going through. At this point in time there is nothing else to say….but there is plenty to do (individually and collectively). Let us begin...now.

May God bless you all.
