As Christmas approaches, families become closer, the heat of the fireplace keeps everyone inside and warm. Mothers and Fathers enjoy the peacefullness between the children who are struggling to be good. Grandmothers and Grandfathers pack their bags, and enjoy the hospitality from their children; smiling from their quickly maturing grandchildren. A turkey is roasted; a radio softly playing in the background; snowflakes gently layering the bare tree branches. the white winter has waddled in quiet and serene.
At least, that's how media portrays it still.
Lately all I've seen is screaming brats fighting in the parking lots. Divorices splitting families in two. Children crying for electronics, and more and more and more. Grandparents taken for granted. Homemade sweaters and gifts thrown away. Ipods keeping every kid isolated. People regretting winter, and hating cold weather. Mr. Scrooge sourly refuses to show any Christmas spirit.
Please, don't let that big screen tv that was 50% off at bestbuy ruin the holidays. Enjoy life, enjoy your kids, your parents, your friends. there will be one day where they won't be there, and you will regret that you missed out on those special family times because you were too busy standing in line to save a couple bucks.
