Released today (21 June 2008) statistics on the organized killing of the female population. Charities today released figures showing that the people of one nation are systematically killing off the female children born in that country. The following report comes courtesy of the BBC in the UK.

The number of girls born and surviving in India has hit an all time low compared to boys, ActionAid says.
A report by the UK charity says increasing numbers of female foetuses were being aborted and baby girls deliberately neglected and left to die.
In one site in the Punjab state, there are just 300 girls to every 1,000 boys among higher caste families, it says.
ActionAid says India faces a "bleak" future if it does not end its practice of cultural preference for boys.
Girls 'condemned'
ActionAid teamed up with Canada's International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to produce the Disappearing Daughters report.
More than 6,000 households in sites across five states in north-western India were interviewed and statistical comparisons were made with national census date.
Under "normal" circumstances, there should be about 950 girls for every 1,000 boys, the charity said.

Why is it? Why do we allow it to continue? Woman; why do you allow this to happen, and why do you put up with it. I have spoken on this subject before but every so often there are revealed, statistics that makes me want to scream at the world and say, just what is wrong with you. I am sorry if I seem to be going over the same ground and walking the same path as I have once before; but it needs to be said again and again until we all view this as unacceptable and say the life of a female is of equal worth to that of the male.

Where is the voice of the woman in the West? When injustice and a need has been seen, woman of the western world have not been lax in taking up the challenge to put matters aright. They came forward during WW11 and showed they were equal to their men in running industry. They came forward as Suffragettes to gain their equal rights in the vote. Individuals such as the black nurse Mary Seacole who could not get a nursing job with Florence Nightingale made her own way to the Crimea. She was a mother, nurse and confidant to the dying and wounded. No, she was not behind the lines, but in the front line with bombs falling around her ears. She lay flattened on the ground with the men she had come to look after as the shells fell from the sky. One need look no farther for a female hero than this, and I make no apology for mentioning the fact that she was black. For as the Crimea was taking place in 1854, slavery was still rampant in America. This is one woman that was a true hero to those soldiers and to humanity. Through out history woman as a group and woman as individuals have shown they are the equal of man, and yet today with all the power of the pen at their disposal, woman seem to ignore the plight of others of their gender. You are the ones that have the ability and wherewithal to write to the papers, write to governments write to the TV. In other words make a bloody nuisance of yourselves until those MEN in power do something.

I now speak of violence, not the violence of nation against nation. Not the violence of the drunk on the street. Not even the violence of the criminal in the midst of our society. Though these are subjects in themselves; and infuriate the hell out of me. I speak of the violence rendered to one section of our society. Let me clarify that by putting this in a global context, the section of society that I refer to is woman.

Figures came out today for domestic violence in the UK, I thought it would be quite high and before today I would have thought that it may have affected about 4% of woman in this country. How naïve could I be? So here we have a direct quote from the government figures:-
Domestic violence is a crime that affects one in four women
The committee noted that, on average, two women are killed every week in the UK by their partner or former partner
Domestic violence cost the UK £25.3bn in 2005/06 in terms of expenses incurred on public services, losses to the economy and costs to the victim.
Now my aging brain can’t cope with anything above ten. But as a very quick reckoning that’s over 20%. If we then assume that there are sixty million adults in this country, thirty million are female I think that makes about seven hundred and fifty thousand victims at any one time. This I imagine is the figures for spousal abuse, so if this is the case add to that those same violent men bestowing their manly prowess upon their children. Now that ups the figure somewhat!
If a woman was walking down the street and a man came up to her and punched, thumped, kicked and generally assaulted and abused her, would she just accept it as the norm and part of life. I think not! How much more so then if those blows that crash upon her body come from one that professes love for her. How much less must she accept this violence from the one person that she would stand shoulder to shoulder with against the trials and tribulations of life? Why take this from the so called men in their lives, when these are the very people that should be there to protect them. If a woman would not accept rape then why accept blows to the body as this is also a violation of a female.

There is another violence that has recently come to light in this society of ours. Not only is it an obscenity against woman it is an imported obscenity that should be stamped out throughout the world. I speak of the Eastern custom of honour killing. There are certain peoples of Eastern cultures that think nothing of killing their daughters, should these said daughters for whatever reason offend their parents or family. There are certain people that have imported into the UK their own form of barbarity, and yet we tip toe around these people in case we offend them. How many of those two women per week are victims of honour killing. Those who would follow this doctrine are now being persecuted. But they think the have found a way round being accused of murder of their own child. It has turned from honour killing to honour suicide. They make their daughters commit suicide. How much more the dishonour of being known as one who killed his own daughter? Below is an extract from a news report on just one such case.


A grandmother has been jailed for life for ordering the murder of her cheating daughter-in-law.
Bachan Athwal, 70, was told by an Old Bailey judge that she must serve a minimum term of 20 years in prison.

The court heard her daughter-in-law Surjit Athwal disappeared "off the surface of the earth" after going to a family wedding with her in India in December 1998.
Bachan, a mother of six and grandmother of 16, ordered the death at a family meeting after discovering Surjit, a Heathrow Customs officer, had been having an affair and wanted a divorce.
No doubt these are the same people that would wish to bring back the throwing of wives onto the funeral pyres of their dead husbands.
While we are speaking of violence against the females of this world and without going into great detail, let us touch on the subject of Female Genital Mutilation. This is performed on young females as an act of barbarity. Even in this day and age this still takes place. Part of the female anatomy is hacked off in the belief that what god has made man can improve upon. How pathetic can this be? As a man none of this directly affects me or impinges on my life in any kind of way, I can only say that my heart goes out to all those who find themselves in this situation. I only hope that this particular worm turns and becomes a snake.
