Choosing a new dog

By: Hannah Engle

When you're thinking about getting a new dog, there are lots of things to think about such as your job, life, and other responsibilities first. If you don't have time for a dog, don't buy one.

About the dog: Look online and in informational books, or even a pet store assistant to find more info about whichever dog you want. Also be sure to think about how big or small the dog is, are they good with children, or other pets, does it shed, what type of food you will need to buy, and any other things you can think about.

You need to buy a buckle collar that is not too loose to the neck, an id tag on the collar just in case it may get lost, about a 10-15ft leash for medium/ small dogs and longer for bigger dogs, a leash, a kennel, grooming supplies like a brush and shampoo, a dog food such as Puppy chow, Purina One, Blue diet, Natural choice, There are many more at your local pet store. Also the Natural foods are the best and an optional option would be treats for rewarding.

Always be sure you can be able to supervise your dog at all times, or at least most of the time, and take some time to find the best one for you.

Good luck!
