Why do people want immortality so bad? Yes, death is a scary thing, and I admit, I am terrified of death myself. But some people do not realize. Can you really be happy with immortality? You might be asking, “Where are you going with this? What are you trying to prove?” If you do not want to hear this “meaningless rant”, then, by all means, close this out and read something else.
Immortality is guilded. It may seem like something good. And it can be…for only a moment. When you finally have opened your eyes on how this is bad, then feel free to tell me. But what lies beneath immortality is something more painful, something way worse than death. Loneliness! While you may see it now, some of you are probably still confused about what I am getting at. Well, let me tell you then.
If you choose to want immortality, then listen up! And remember this well…
Every friend you make and get close to, every person you come to cherish WILL DIE! And you will be in pain for the rest of your life or until you stop caring for existence.* But wait! You can’t stop caring because you are immortal and can’t die by pain alone. You will go insane by being the last person on earth. All you come to love will be gone and will have been taken from you. There will be no one to dry the tears or comfort you in your sorrow. Only yourself! And do you think you can handle the loneliness? That pain worse than death. I’ll let you decide…
*if you do stop caring for existence then everyone will see you as a jerk and will most likely reject you. So you will be lonely and rejected, which could double the pain!
