Intermittent liquid sunshine

Mounds of molten black lava rocks

Non-indigenous trees overtaking the native

A rainforest without parrots and monkeys

Roaming free range chickens and wild pigs

Relentless Coqui noise from tree frogs left unchecked

Abandoned sugarcane turned into cane grass

Two inch native bananas

Ripe wild mangoes on the ground to pick

Beach parks without beaches

Clothing optional

Can't live without Boogie boards and boots

Surfers waiting on rocks like seals for big waves

Imported reggae rhythms as island music

People flocking to hot ponds and tide pools

Everything organic whatever it is

Wild donkeys tamed as pets

Everywhere yoga studios

Meditation mantra on sale

Ashram dwellers seeking universal love

Gays gathering around the steam vents rubbing each other backs

Multi-ethnic melting pot a bright spot

Happy hippy colonies

Pot paradise

Tattoo parlors galore for those willing to color their skin

Farmers' markets selling from pot to produce

Inspiring green papaya salad and sweet Taro pudding

8 dollar burrito

Flourishing Floriculture and Apiculture

A place where the Seventh Day Adventists get respect

Misguided youth walking bare foot and smoking pot

Roadside fruit stands selling Lilico'I, papayas, avocados, mangoes and Chayote squash

Land prospectors waiting to cash on

Retirees living in gated community constantly mowing grass with loud noise on 8 acre plots

Forest clearing and construction on tide pools reminds the events that turned prairie lands of midwest into dust bowl

Mainlanders dressing in floral garments and growing facial hair to masquerade

Cooking gas in portable cylinders

Geothermal generating more noise than power

Lackluster solar power

Wind energy up in the air

A distant possibility of Tsunami and volcanic eruptions
