The uncontrolled tongue can do terrible damage. Satan uses the tongue to divide people. Idle and hateful words are damaging because they spread destruction quickly, and no one can stop the results once spoken. We dare not be careless with what we say, thinking we can apologize later, because even if we do, the scars remain. A few words spoken in anger can destroy a relationship that took years to build. Before you speak, remember that words are like fire-you can neither control nor reverse that damage they can do.
If no human can tame the tongue, why bother trying? Even though we may not achieve perfect control of our tongues, the Holy Spirit will help us to learn self-control. Remember that we are not fighting the tongue's fire in our own strength. The Holy Spirit will give us increasing power to monitor and control what we say, so that when we are offended, the Spirit will remind us of God's love, and we won't react in a hateful manner. When we are criticized, the Spirit will heal the hurt and help us not to lash out. Yet we will never forget when called an author of the devil along with more cruel words than can even be listed; and that is the christian love false teachers spread worldwide; yet when you are neglected, or purposely seen as non-existent nothingness, and you don't feel pain or hurt with the insult or the oversight, but your heart is happy, being counted worthy to suffer for Christ.

When your good is evil spoken of, when your wishes are crossed, your advice disregarded, your opinions ridiculed, and you refuse to let anger rise in your heart, or even defend yourself, but take it all in patient, loving silence.

When you patiently bear any disorder or annoyance while standing face-to- face in a world of people lacking proper actions with spiritual insensibility-and endure it as Jesus endured.

When you just accept your way life with thanks to God no matter how many difficulties and hardships you have had to live with through many years in health mind and body.

When you can see others prosper and have their needs met and feel no envy, nor question God, while your own needs are far greater and in desperate circumstances.

When you can receive spiritual correction according to the words of God from one of less stature than yourself and can humbly submit inwardly as well as outwardly, finding no rebellion or resentment rising up within your heart.

When you have totally submitted your entire life to God as a living sacrifice for His use and to please Him with absolutely no life of your own while knowing that you are a sinner and can do nothing without Him.
