“What do you mean you had been expecting me?”,I sputtered.
“Why?Aren’t you Ms.Anne Fitzgerald?Daughter of Melissa and Samuel Fitzgerald AND sister of Brandon Fitzgerald?”,He asked me,stressing the word ‘sister’.
I nodded involuntarily.Yes of course! I was the sister of a brother, I didn’t even knew, had existed till two days back!!
“Yes ,I am Brandon’s sister and THAT is precisely why I am here.I would be highly obliged if you could tell me about him.”,I said.Though I wanted to know about how HE knew me,I resisted the urge…I would ask him that,but not right now.
“I am really sorry but I cannot help.I am bound to an agreement between me and your mother,which I will not breach”,He replied.
I was dumb-founded.How COULD this man say that he couldn’t help me?And what was this ‘agreement’ he was talking about?
He must have guessed what was I thinking because he further added ,“I wish I could do something for you!”. Why of course you can! Just tell me about my brother!! “Why don’t we go out and talk a little?The garden is blooming with all kinds of flowers this time of the year.Maybe I could explain a few things to you.”,he continued.
I nodded again.He had a lot of explaining to do………..I’ll make sure of that.
