Dancing Through Life.

Novel By: Rowenya
Non-fiction

This is the one-stop guide to me! I am a very complex individual to some, although I find it's easier if you know me and take the time to understand me. However, since I am SICK of defending myself, I thought I'd put this guide together for you all. Enjoy! Jess xxx View table of contents...

This is the introductory post, and it's basically the list of defining features. The rest of the chapters will explore some of these things in a bit more detail, although I cannot promise that they will necessarily be in the order that they appear in this list!
  1. I am not interested in cat-fights, airing people's dirty laundry, putting other people down and other such tawdry behaviour. It simply does not hold any interest for me and frankly, I do not need the drama in my life.
  2. I am a classy woman with taste. This doesnotmean I am stuck up or that I think I am above other people. It simply means that I am a classy woman.
  3. I like reading, cooking, baking, fashion, Sudoku, debates on any subject, going to museums and going to art galleries.
  4. I donotlike "chick flicks", swearing, tasteless jokes, tasteless films, pornography or men who think that wearing a belt on their trousers is optional.
  5. Only I am alllowed to insult my family. If you try it, you will face my wrath.
  6. The fact that I tell you things about my life does not make you my best friend or somebody who knows me well. A lot of the time, it simply means that you know some things about my life.
  7. The length of time I have known you makes all the difference, as does the issue of whether I have met you in person or not.
  8. I do not trust people who are positive to my face and then negative behind my back.
  9. I do not see the point of wearing designer clothes when there are perfectly good clothes in High Street shops and charity shops. I would rather buy 6 shirts from a charity shop and give some money towards a good cause than buy a designer shirt that will go out of fashion in two months' time.
  10. I support a lot of charities and think that philanthropy is the best way to go. We were put on this earth and instead of taking life for granted, we should give something back to the community. This could be volunteering, donating or both. I do both.
  11. My family are the world to me and despite our differences, I love them all.
  12. The fact that I have Asperger Syndrome doesnotmake me an imbecile. In fact, it has been scientifically proven that those with High Functioning Autism and/or Asperger Syndrome tend to have higher IQs than neurotypical people.
  13. My vocabulary is far more extensive than people would like to believe. I usually "dumb" things down as most of the people that I know have said that they experience confusion when I use my full vocabulary.
  14. I have a great knowledge of most subjects - this includes criminal law, French, German, the arts, history, politics, environmental concerns and current events.
  15. I would far rather watch programmes such asThe Antiques Roadshowthan watchI'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Hereor other such ridiculous programmes. If I am not intellectually stimulated, then I do not wish to view it.
  16. I am not about to sit and listen to people insult me. If you have something negative to say about me that is not constructive, then be prepared to be removed from my life. If you can show me how your opinion is constructive, however, I will listen to you and take your comments on board.
  17. My life was a lot harder than people think. Until I managed to extricate myself from the clutches of my hometown, I was very stifled and depressed.
  18. The reason people do not know a lot about my past is because they have not asked. I am not about to share the intimate details of my life unless I am asked.
  19. I have a very black-and-white view of the world and that is not going to change.
  20. My religion, my beliefs and my opinions are personal to me and unless I trust you, I am not going to impart them to you.
  21. I have read 85% of the classics - and by classics I mean Dickens, Chaucer, Orwell and others rather than the twaddle that some authors come out with.
  22. I appreciate all forms of literature, music, art and oratory.
  23. I try to see both sides of the argument, but this does not mean I condone any wrongdoing - if there is any. As an example, I can see where Hitler was coming from with his idea of an Aryan race. However, I donotcondone the mass genocide of the Jewish race and the millions of other innocent people who were killed under his regime and during World War II.
  24. Young men and women today do not take much pride in themselves, nor do they value themselves. The Jeremy Kyle Showis a shining example of the lack of morals and self-valuation that the younger generations have.
  25. Getting drunk and taking drugs is not all that people believe it is.
  26. I value my education more than my relationship. Men will come and go, but without my education I will not have the career that I want, nor will I be able to afford the things that I want.
  27. I would rather spend two hours discussing art than spend two hours discussing makeup.
  28. I will only ever change myself if I want to - I will never change myself for somebody else.
  29. Don't judge me by my past - I don't live there any more.
  30. If you don't like what you have just read, please remove yourself from my friendship group.
