The princess with her long, brown hair
Looks down and smiles at a white mare.
And on that mare, there sat a knight
Protecting the girl day and night.
For his enjoyment, she would sing
And act and read- all sorts of things.
And at times she would even ask,
"Dear Knight, do you enjoy this task?
Of sitting there to protect me.
If I were you, I'd rather be free!"
Yet his response would make her smile
And make her glad for a long while
"Dear miss," he'd say, "I do love you.
I show it through this task I do:
Protecting you from evil near
That dare's mess with my only dear."
The princess with her long brown locks
Would blow a kiss to him that talks
And crawl into her bed with tears
of joy to him that never fears...
But then one day the strong knight died
And oh, poor princess, how she cried!
Sitting alone and looking grave
To where her young knight stood so brave...
And now the princess walks outside
From enemies she will not hide
And even though the memory stings
For her brave knight- this princess sings.
