Alone with Loneliness

Poetry By: Kalika997
Non-fiction

I wrote this while in my school library, I was thinking of my friends that I had to leave behind when I moved. People who live near friends they've known for a long time don't know how luckyh they are. They complain more and more about it yet never stop to think about what they'd do without them.

Their voices carry to where I sit

Young and happy, not a hint of sadness

They don't fit with the darkness

I feel inside my very soul

Nobody here really knows how it is

To lose everything and everyone you've ever known

How would they?

They say friendship spans any distance

But those who say that do not stop to think

About the pain that very distance causes

Because when you leave your life behind,

You may as well be dead.

And those cheerful voices

Have yet to feel this pain

Though they may not realise it now,

But they have everything they need

Right there by their sides.
