Humberto Leal Garcia, Jr. was a criminal on death row in the American state of Texas. He was indeed a criminal, but there was one tiny problem: he was a Mexican citizen. Despite calls from President Barack Obama and a number of others to cancel the execution, Texas Governor (and presidential candidate in 2012) Rick Perry this crime, and Mr. Garcia received a lethal injection on July 7, 2011. This is a violation of The Geneva Conventions as well as a number of other treaties.
