What does it require to “have a life”? A job? Money? Have you ever been told you need to get a life or you need to find one? Perhaps maybe there is nothing to it or maybe it’s on a whole different difficulty. Why do you have to have certain things to “have a life”?
Apparently I have no life. My mother says I need one, which I found funny. Friends jokingly say go to eBay.com and buy a life. But on a serious note, I do have a life. Sure, I don’t have things that are “required” to live in today’s society. I like anime a lot, and that is what I like. Apparently anime isn’t allowed to be part of my life. I have a girlfriend (I love her with all my heart and soul) and I want to be there beside her with everyday and night that comes to pass. Why can’t everything I do or try to do be my life? The way I live it is my decision. Apparently, I’m lifeless to this society. If I have no life, then nobody would miss me when I’m gone, right?
Why do people tell me to get a life when everyone is obsessing over things they do not necessarily need, like cell phones; y;know the people that HAVE to have possession of one or otherwise they would “die”. And people tell me to get a life when others are wasting theirs sitting in a basement killing brain cells with drugs and alcohol?
I have a lot of free time, so I draw. I have a whole binder full of drawing. When people look at them, they notice how much there is and say, “You have too much free time”. So what?! It’s better than wasting time killing my body. What the fuck? I mean come on people! Drawing can’t be part of my life? You see manga/comic artists making lots of money because they liked to draw. They didn’t get that way over night smoking and drinking, did they?
I have a life. In order to live, you must have a life; and I am in fact living last time I checked. So let me review what I have:
- A sweet, beautiful girlfriend
- Hobbies that I enjoy
- The common sense not to destroy body with toxic substances
- A heartbeat (I am alive!)
Why can’t people just be happy with what I have, move on to what they enjoy doing, and stop telling people who has a life or not. A life, the definition I give it, is living doing what you like to do and what you find as a reason for living.
