I don't remember much from the night before except running away from home
I remember the green of the trees in the woods where I got lost
The sapphire sky with a pale moon shining accompanied by millions of stars
At least the moon was never alone, she had the stars to keep her company
I looked around desperately trying to find a way out
The woods were nothing but trees, trees, and more trees
I slowed my running to a walk and kept slowing down until I finally stopped
The last thing I saw before fainting, was the Shadow Man
My head hit the fallen leaves of orange and red November
The next day, I woke up at the Mansion and felt relief to see the Man standing
At least, I wasn't alone
He brought me water, food, cleaned my wounds
He never let me see his face and always had his black veil over his pale face
His hands were all I could see and sometimes his arms when he rolled up his sleeves
I wondered if he was hiding ugly scars or worse and stared beyond his veil
He never spoke more than three words
He nursed me back to health
Was he an angel? I wondered...
