The Tale of the Untold Story

The words subliminally prowl like a caged animal

Powerful and angry; demanding their due reparation

Sitting at the hungry keyboard, fingers poised

There is too much to say, too many plotlines

Weaving through the thick of my subconscious

Characters with a visceral growl and a sense of entitlement

Machinations of my neurotic, darkly troubled mind

Each the protagonist of a distinct and loosely constructed world

Their journey formed by my experiences and musings

All of them desperate to live their life on paper

In glorious leather bound volumes; with thick, stiff pages

Too many voices; jumbled together in a confused chaos

How could I possibly choose one and not the other?

So I sit, paralyzed by indecision

The tragic, untold story caught in my throat

I turn away from the demanding blank paper

Saving my fevered words for a better day
