We've been working on several new features that will make it even easier for you to share your novels, short stories, poems, and more. We're happy to announce that our latest feature is ready to roll out.

Now, when you publish on Booksie, you can easily convert your content into a PDF eBook that can be downloaded and stored on a hard drive, emailed to others, or printed. Multi-chapter books are automaticaly combined into one PDF for easy reading. The PDF can also be uploaded to the Amazon Kindlealt and the Sony Readeralt.

You, the writer are in total control and can choose to have your content converted or not.

eBookGenerator Check out the eBook version of this article by clicking the orange eBook button on the left of the page.

Creating a Booksie eBook

New Content

All new content on Booksie will default to being converted into a PDF. You can turn off this option by selecing No from the PDF drop-down, as shown in the image below when you go through the process of publishing your content:

BooksieeBookGenerator

Existing Content

Existing content will only be converted if you choose to do so. To convert existing content, click on

  1. Publish
  2. Content Name
  3. Edit Main Content Infortmation

Then, select Yes as eBook Generator option. The content will be instantly converted into a PDF eBook.

Edited Content Instantly Reflected in eBook

Any edits you do to your document on Booksie will automatically be reflected in the eBook. If you change the text or the image, these will also change in the eBook without you having to make any additional changes.

Turn Off eBook

As the author, you also have the control to turn off eBook generation at any time by selecting the No option.

Formatting

All content will be automatically formatted as a Booksie PDF, Novel chapters will be combined into one long novel. For an example, check out the eBook version of the novel Monarch, by Phillip Lanuto III.

What You Can Do With It

The eBook generates as a PDF file. PDF stands for Portable Document Format. The document that is created can be downloaded from the site to your hard drive. From there, it can be emailed to others. In addition, PDFs are very printer-friendly and will print in high resolution. Lastly, as we mentioned at the beginning, the format can be easily loaded into portable reading devices like the Amazin Kindle, Sony Reader, and more. By creating a portable format, we hope this makes it even easier for writers to share their content with the world and for readers to better enjoy the great novels, stories, poems, articles and more on Booksie.

Feedback

This is Version 1 of the eBook Generator and we realize it isn't perfect. We'll continue to refine it if you tell us it is valuable. We also welcome your feedback and comments on how we can make it better.

Hi all,

We're aware of a bug that is causing content to disappear from your public Booksie page. We'll have it fixed shortly. The Reads tracker also seems off. No matter how much you test, something invariably is off when you do a release.

Awesome feature! Being a famous well known author is a dream come true, but for some people, like myself, just being able to call your self an author is a reward all in its own.
SO HOW DO YOU PRINT AN EBOOK OF YOUR WORK?

I like the generated ebook, it's a nice feature. I just wish we had a little more control over the formatting.

hmm this sounds great :) Just one question, will the finished product be able to be put up for sale on sites such as Amazon.com? I dealt with another site that had this same idea but they put a restriction on it that you were not allowed to sell it through any other site but their own - and they took a hefty cut :O

Does this mean it still belongs to us, the authors, or can someone rip our stories and publish them as they're own?

I am new here, so I'm working as fast as I can to learn what is free, what isn't, how things work, and how they don't. This is site was introduced by a user ~ MirMir~ who I've known now in real life for, oh I don't know, a year in a half maybe? Anyway, I think this new Ebook thingy will be very useful. Um, please, by any means, if anyone would like to help me out in anyway that would be nice. Thank you so much.
