Booksie has started testing a new copyright protection system. Whenever someone tries to copy and paste a portion of a content page, a warning box appears and the users IP address is logged by the system.

The warning box is displayed below:

This adds another layer of protection to your content. Currently, Booksie blocks most of the ability to select content. Those that are able to get around this block will receive this warning message.

In addition, once this message appears, we will log the IP address of the user selecting the content and associate it with the content. If you are not planning to copy content, are pasting for another reason, or have the author's permission to copy, then there is no reason to worry about this IP logging.

With these steps, Booksie has made the site one of the most secure places to share your writing.

We look forward to your feedback on these enhancements and are open to making changes to the program based on your comments.
