A MEMORY

When good or bad things happen they are burned into our minds where they sharpen. Sometimes when those thoughts come back they make us go back and remember. We may see something that sparks a though; you might call it a trigger, we may smile or even cry sometimes we may even laugh out loud. Depending on what it is we recall.... a loved one lost can come back to you in a memory. A memory can play over and over again, it can take us back in time. We can gain a sense of what used to be or could have been, a memory can come again and again, make us begin again. Pain may come with these thoughts and memories, the pain we felt then or the pain that comes when we know to good times will never be again. A smile in a picture, a place you may have been....something we see that starts the spark. Times when lives may have begun or even ended for one we love. A memory flutters in our mind because of those we miss, the times we lose sometimes a memory can become one's muse. Those memories of people we have lost and miss can bring a brief moment of bliss, even if just for a moment or a pause. In our memories we don't have to say goodbye, we just go on and try. We live on to keep those we've lost alive in our memories, in our thoughts. While we must go on and survive our memories will always be there, everywhere we go and however long we live remember the times that make you smile and sometimes the times that make you cry or even laugh out loud. No matter how hard we try to continue on and live for those we've lost these memories, these times we miss the future times we have lost, those we have loved and lost and truely mis, these memories are often all we have. It's called a memory and too often it is all we have to hold onto.
