NBC launched a week long mini talent contest for a capella groups. The contest was no doubt inspired by the success of Glee, the drama based around a teacher and a high school a capella group.
In general, I've been very impressed with the talent and the show is fun to watch. It's amazing what the groups can do with no instruments. Listening, you forget that everything is created via voice.
The best group in my biased opinion is the Beelzebubs from Tufts University. I say biased because I graduated from Tufts and have seen the Bubs, as they're known on campus, many times before. The winner receives a publishing contract from Sony.
Below is a clip of the Bubs singing Dowtown. The show is on for the rest of the week I think. On the last show they'll crown a winner.
BTW - has anyone seen Glee lateley? It seems to have jumped the shark. Am I the only one who feels this way?
