altWHEN I Started the article on "Self realisation-ur opinion" and Then the article on "Colours",i was not sure how it would be received...But one day when i woke up and opened the window, i could see so many sun rays coming inside my living room, caressing my cheek with affection, hugging me and kriish tight.....and after that i was never never alone....Each and every comment was a ray of Sun, a ray of love, a ray of affection, a ray of acceptance, rays of happy happy thoughts, rays of so many sweet thoughts.....

Every morning, after getting up, i would switch on the lap and open the windows and VOILA....a wonderful power packed day ahead....and i am ready to embrace life.....I don't feel jobless and worthless anymore.....

A variety of responses made my day each day, each morning.....thoughtful response, selfless response, naughty response, responses talking to me......confiding in me and with all of us.....i could learn so much about all my friends at booksie....i can now say, i know my family...i know what colours they like....each response was like a pearl in a necklace and the thread is BOOKSIE....

Now. let's take it one step further....and go for .....

.....Part 3 - Let's know what food we like.....

Part 4 would be - "How Would u like to celebrate your birthday and also the birthday of your parents !" ( That's coming up).....

And thus the series would continue and slowly and slowly we would realise that we all know each other and love each other more and more with each passing day........likes, dislikes, preferences, favourites....

come let's fall in love.....!!

A HUGE HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF YOU TO COME TO THE PARTY OF COLOURS AND SPREADING HAPPINESS EVERYWHERE.....LIKE I SAID...WE ALL ARE A FAMILY AND WE ALL LOVE EACH OTHER LOTS....I HAVE SEEN FRIENDSHIPS BLOSSOMING HERE AND THE FRAGRANCE OF THE FLOWERS OF FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE IS TAKING AWAY PAIN AND DEPRESSION FROM THE LIVES OF SO MANY OF US.....COME , LET'S SHARE OUR FAVOURITE RECIPES AND LEARN ABOUT EACH OTHER.....IT WOULD BE FUN LIKE THE COLOUR PARTY.....I WOULD TRY TO INVITE EACH ONE OF YOU PERSONALLY ...I WOULD SURELY TRY.....TRUST ME....IT WOULD BE 'FUN'....LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN......

We all are tired and need a break from this world of words for a while so that when we come back after getting refreshed, we feel ‘energised’ and ‘relaxed’ and ‘ready’ to experiment and ‘challenge’ our own thoughts.

Right?
Come with me to the world of ‘food’....the world which is connected very closely to the world of inspiration. The inspiration to ‘think’, the inspiration to ‘love’, the inspiration to ‘share’....
Come for this small party and pot-luck where we all would share our favourite recipe with each other. Write as many number of recipes as you can and you would find so many of us looking at you with a smile and a nod...

alt

Come say “HELLO” to the world of ‘experimentation’ with food.

I LOVE TANDOORI CHICKEN.....Hmmm.....YUM YUM.....

To start with, I would share a nutritious recipe (traditional recipe called Dalma from Orissa, India)...

Requirements:alt

1. Carrot – 2

2. Tomatoes- 1
3. Onion – 1
4. Potato – 1
5. Butter squash – half
6. Beans – handful
7. Beetroot – 1
8. Broccoli- half
9. Cauliflower- half
10.Any other vegetable you would like to add – all these vegetables have to be cut into small cubes or they can be bought from frozen section as well. Any combination will work.
We have to steam all of them and keep them aside
Now, select 1 cup of any pulse you love ...for example black beans or white beans or chick peas or better still a combination of all of them and keep it in water overnight so that it becomes soft and then in the morning, boil it with water and change the water twice at an interval of 20 min so that all the dirt of the surface gets washed away ( the whitish dirt would float)....And then finally when the water is clear, add little turmeric and salt.
As soon as the pulse is boiled , add the vegetables are added.

In another pan, oil ( 2-3 tsps) is added to which half a tsp of cumin seeds and 2 onions sliced are added and fried till golden brown. The oil with fried cumin seeds and onions are added to the pulse and vegetable combination.

Then, the secret spice - ( GRANNY's) "cumin seeds ( roasted and powdered form) and Red chillie ( powdered form) are added ( 2 tsps each)....these two give the curry the wonderful taste and aroma. Shredded coconut can also be added (optional) but gives the curry a nice texture)....Finally, let them boil for 10 min. Serve with hot rice...tastes yum and very nutritious.

i make this one for kriish ( for him, i don't add shredded coconut....he takes the coconut out with tongue)....weekly thrice for sure...ALL VEGGIES in ONE GO....

2. Rice Pudding.
Requirementsalt
1. Half cup basmati rice – soaked in water overnight
2. Milk- 1 litre
3. 3 cardamom pods
4. Sugar
5. A pinch of salt
Procedure
After overnight soaking, we have to grind the rice to paste with little water
Bring the milk to boil and add sugar and cardamom seeds while it boils. Once it begins to boil, add the rice paste to it and stir it continuously till the entire pudding is of one uniform consistency.

After 15 min, the pudding is ready. If it becomes too hard, we can add more milk....in the end we can garnish this dish with crushed almonds/pistachios, raisins....

Let me know if you could get time to try these two simple recipes taught to me by MOM.

And looking forward to lots of newest recipe and exchange of ideas.

Food is warmth, brings people together (a bit like you Prathibha!
Here is a recipe for "easy" zucchini soup.
Grate or process, a couple medium zucchini, one small onion, one small potatoe - put in steamer with some cracked pepper, a little curry powder if liked, a couple of chicken stock cubes - have a reasonable amount of water underneath because this will be the liwuid base. Steam all gently for ten or so minutes. Take off heat, tip steamed vegetables into the liquid, add a tin of your favourite creamed chicken soup in a can, stir all together and heat gently.
You can add some chopped parsley, a little milk and you may need to assess if it needs any more liquid, pepper, salt etc.
Sup and enjoy with crusty bread while reading something extra ordinary and beautiful from Prathibha!!

Hey we both share this love for sweet recipes.....my son and sanjeev love panipooris ...the more spicier, the better.....

Oh my god, that sounds SOOOO good. One of my favorite dishes (yes, this is for you vegetarians) is Chex Mix. It isn't the kind you see on the box, because we made a few variations. Trust me. It's ADDICTING.
Preheat the oven to 250 degrees (Fahrenheit)
Mix 7 cups of cereal (Corn Chex, Rice Chex, Wheat Chex, and Cheerios. As long as it totals up to 7 cups, you can put in however much of each cereal you want. My personal favorite is the Cheerios, so I put in four cups of that and 1 cup of each Chex thing)
In a small saucepan, heat 1/2 cup of butter or margarine (1 stick of butter)4 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, and 1 1/4 teaspoons of seasoned salt.
Pour the sauce over the cereal, and mix it up. Stick it in the oven for 1 hour, taking it out and mixing it every 15 minutes.
This takes a little more time than your average snack, but it's TOTALLY worth it. Plus, it's easy! I've been making it since I was ten.
Love to the whole entire Booksie community! I hope you've smiled today!

I'm loving how there are so many recipes flying around for vegitarians. I don't eat red meat(Beef, pork, lamb) so it's hard to find dishes to eat when I'm at a resturant because they cook mostly those meats. All of my friends were surprised when I told them I only ate chicken turkey and fish, and now they refuse to go out to lunch with me because if we go somewhere that doesn't offer vegitarian options, I only get a drink and they say that makes them feel gluttonous.
I will try each and every one of the vegitarian recipes that come up here. Thank you so much.

I'll get back to you!!

AND I AM WAITING FOR A QUICK ANd TASTY RECIPE....for me...i would love to make it....waiting....Whatever i learnt from MOM is lengthy and time taking......

Thanks Stephanee....

Here's a simple sweet treat.

Bee-utiful Cinnamon popcorn
1 cup unpopped popcorn
2 Tbs olive oil
2 Tbs honey
dash or two of cinnamon (maybe 1-2 tsp)
dash of salt

pop the popcorn and dump into large bowl
heat olive oil and honey together and stir together until just warm
dump sweet mixture on popcorn and toss
sprinkle with cinnamon (add salt if you desire) and toss until mixed well
if your bowl has a lid, you can shake the popcorn to mix. Be careful because the heat may pop lid off bowl when you first shake!

This is a great little snack. You can substitute microwaved popcorn too and experiment with the flavors. Much better for you than processed, flavored popcorns. :) And veggie.

Okay, here is one of my favorite dishes to make and it is very easy...

Need:
Salmon
'A taste of Thai' (company name) spicy thai peanut bake
terryaki sauce
ruby chard
jasmine rice

Put salmon in a thin baking dish, like a pie plate. Pour terryaki sauce over until salmon has thin layer around it (be generous). Put peanut bake on top of salmon and then I usually sprinkle a little more terryaki sauce on top. Put in over for ~30 min at 350 degrees. Then serve with steamed ruby chard and steamed rice. Walaa!

hmmmm....YUM YUM.....would try on kriish's birthday party next sunday for sure....

This is a great idea and everyone's recipes sound really good. I've never had Indian food so I'm anxious to try it (although how would I know if I get it right?!!?!). Oh well, I'll just keep going down the list, they all sound great.

Here's my favorite comfort food. It has no nutritional value, is ridiculously fattening, and absolutely decadent!

You first have to make a pan of homemade biscuits (self-rising flour, shortening, buttermilk). While the biscuits are baking, place two cups of sugar, two tablespoons of cocoa powder, one tablespoon of sifted flour in a saucepan. Add one to two cans of evaporated milk and cook over medium heat until the chocolate begins to thicken (consistency should be between a sauce and a gravy).

When the biscuits are done, cut in half, top with butter (both sides) and ladle chocolate over the top. Cold milk or hot coffee, and life just doesn't get any better!

Thanks for all recipes everyone. I'm looking forward to trying them all1

Hmmmm... I can't think of a recipe off the top of my head right now-- but my mom makes the best spaghetti I've ever tasted, and my dad makes the best fish (I eat fish as a source of protein, that's something I promised my parents I would eat when I became a vegetarian-- lol^_^). But ummm I still need to print out your recipes-- so as I can help my dad make it on one of these weekends in the summer-- I'm looking forward to something new to taste! Lol-- the pictures up there are making me hungry-- and I love your article-- and it's awesome that you want to learn what other's think and learn about their personalities and stuff. Everyone's response is different and that's what makes these articles cool-- you have the reader talk about their experience. :), Sorry this took a while. I'm graduating this week, and I've been having to do stuff for graduation. I'm so nervous for high school in a few months!

Lot's of special chocolate to you,

* A BIG BIG HUG* for you SUSAN....

Hello,
I love cooking but i must warn you my approach to it is somewhat different, i love making up my own dishes here's one i made up just yesterday:
In a frying pan or wok heat some olive oil. Now add to this a puree of four to five cloves of garlic and some ginger. Dont fry this too long just quickly toss in 2 medium chopped onions, fry these till they sweat(Technical term meaning that they go all mushy, DONT OVERDO IT THEY SHOULD NOT GO BROWM), ok once this is done plonk in three chopped tomatoes(Deseeded and skinned offcourse) alomg with three good sized green chillies(Or some hot sauce, up to you), Mix this mixture about and let the water which the tomatoes give off evaporate a bit, Now add cubed pieces of boneless chicken(Three breast fillets worth for this amount of vegetables) Mix the vegetables and chicken well and keep the heat medium(Gas 4 Mark, if you have an electric stove than that's ur fault LOL).Add some salt and black pepper and now you are ready to add the secret ingreadiants..........Cinnamon and Cloves, yeah u heard me ......i told you i was wierd lol, just trust me.......If you have powdered cinnamon and cloves then add a good pinch of both if not dont worry just take a few sticks of cinnamon and 5 cloves and add them to a little milk in a saucer, cover with foil or kitchen wrap and heat on low heat(Gas mark 2 or 3) Then add this mixture to ur simmering chicken (Make sure you've prepared the infused milk before you start cooking the chicken, and for Gods sake dont use more then a quarter cup of milk or you'll end up with soup), In the end just take your cooked chicken off the heat and add a squart of lemon for added zing and you're ready to impress everyone with a completely wierd and delecious concoction of flavors, believe me they work.
Serve with some boiled white rice preferably basmati and there you have it.
I hope you try this one out pratibha since you made me go through the trouble of writing down my jumbled thoughts in an organized fashion! LOL.

GEEZ...this sounds D-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s ....YUM YUM....

Don't worry, it's not weird at all....I always have powdered Cinnamon, cardamom and cloves ( separately) with me and also electric stove....and GREEN CHILLIE IS better any day than sauce ( i don't like sauce, lol, we r similar again),
Black pepper is my favourite any time.....

AND THIS RECIPE SOUNDS YUM YUM....tomorrow when sanjib comes back i will try and if it turns out good, i will make it for kriish's birthday party on Sunday.

Pratibha!! you are such a darling, and you've made me ever so hungary!!!!! the way you described each comment you recieve is FANTASTIC!
hmm my faviourite recipe would have to be jelofrice, which is a dish my cooks.
Its rice that you put in a pot, with blended tomatos and onions and whatever spices you desire. Then after you cook the rice, it comes out orange and DELICOUS!!!!
i will surely tell my mum to try your recipe.
Happy days!

Hi Pratiba,
I got to put this down for you before I get busy.
I love "Saag" too. My mum used to make a wonderful "saag & Maki ki roti" and my mouth is already watering.
I have never made it since I came to Toronto coz I have not seen all the ingredients.......hope you have better luck.

SAAG:

1 Large bunch spinach
1 Large bunch rupini
1 Handful of methi leaves(FENUGREEK)
1 tsp crushed garlic
1 tsp crushed ginger
2-3 green chillies
1 tbsp butter
2-3 tbsp maize meal flour

Ghee
1 small onion (diced)
3 cloves garlic (finely diced)
1/2 inch garlic(finely diced)

Method:

Wash all the leafy vegetables, drain and cut.
Put them in a pressure cooker and add about 1 cup of water, the crushed garlic, ginger, butter, salt and chillies. Let this boil for about 30-45 minutes.

Now open the pressure cooker and if the veges look abit watery, drain the water and keep it aside. Now add the maize meal flour a little at a time and beat the vegetables using a wooden spoon (alternatively you can blend this mixture)
Once you get a buttery consistency, add the drained juices and keep this aside.

In another pan, add the ghee(2-3 tbsp) and add the garlic, onions & ginger. Cook till golden brown and then add to the above saag.
(DELICIOUS)

Serve with plain roti or Naan or best of all "maki ki roti"

Saag is very popular in Punjab-India. Infact it is considered to be a stple of the Punjabis.

Do try it and let us know how it turned out.

Well, one of my favorite recipes (not really a recipe..it's a desert, but it's DELICIOUS!) is an Ice Cream desert. It's EXTREMELY easy (even I can make it haha.) First, just put as many scoops of vanilla ice cream (or frozen yogurt) as you'd like, into a bowl. Then, sprinkle in chocolate chip cookie dough. Next, pour on hot fudge sauce. And lastly, pour on peanut butter sauce. And that's it! It sounds really simple and not very healthy haha, but it is delicious. :)

Wow! All the recipes mentioned above sounds yum! yum! planning to try out......................Well i am not a great cook, but my mom is an expert, i just love her food. One of my favorite is Carrot Halwa/ Carrot Pudding. My mother taught me to do this, the recipe is:
Carrot grated: 2 cups
Milk: 3 cups
Sugar: 1 and 1/4 cup
Cashew: few
Ghee: 3-4 tbsp

First fry the cashews in 1 tbsp of ghee and keep aside. In a heavy bottomed saucepan, bring the milk to a boil, add the grated carrot, stir them occasionally. Once the carrot absorbs all the milk, add sugar and stir continuously, when it rolls up nicely add ghee and stir for few more minutes. Garnish with cashews.

Yum! Yum! Carrot Halwa is ready. Thank you Pratibha for giving me the chance to share a recipe.

i would surely come for to read your new posts. Thanks UPALI...ur comment was very very mishti (sweet)....

ok well most of what i cook i have been cooking for years so to actually write it in a receipe form would be a bit difficult as noting is actually measured since i have been making it for so long :) its kinda hard to explain that hope i didnt lose anyone there :) however i love mexican food and my daughters boyfriend is mexican so i am learning some totally new AUTHENTIC mexican receipes :) i have never tried the receipe im going to post on here but i hear it is very good if you like fish (im told that if you like sushi you will like this as well) so here goes the receipe my daughter gave me i have made it once and it is simple to make and requires no heating of a stove :)

SEBICHI

6-8 Talipia fish filets
10 limes
1/2 cup fresh chopped cilantro
1 cup diced onions
1 cup diced tomoatos
1 bottle Corona beer (optional)
1 bag Tostios with a hint of lime tortila chips

step one--cut all talipia into approximatly 1 inch cubes

step two--cut all limes in half and squeeze all juice into medium to large sized mixing bowl

step three--in bowl containing lime juice pour bottle of corona (if so desired if not continue with remainder of this step) next add cubed fish, chopped cilantro, diced onions & diced tomatos

step four--mix all ingredients together thourghly. cover and place in refridgerator for about 4-5 hours (until all fish pieces are white)

when all fish pieces have turned white the food is ready :) scoop out each serving with a slotted spoon to remove excess juice. use tortilla chips to scoop up sebiche and eat like eating chips and dip

hope anyone who tries this likes it :)

I WOULD TRY THIS FOR SURE AND I AM SURE THIS WOULD BE GREAT....

HMMM....

SOUNDS YUM YUM....THANK YOU SO MUCH HONEY....THANK YOU....

Ah food! I love food! Tandoori looks good, but I wouldn't dare try and make it, I'd just butcher the taste...I'm more of a dessert cook.

One Recipe my Aunt taught my sister and I one summer when we were younger is Monkey Bread.

3 cans of Flaky Biscuits
1 cup sugar (divided)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup pecan slices(these are optional)

Prepare your pan for non-sticking by wiping with oil or spraying with cooking spray. Pour the pecans into the pan and set aside (again these are optional). Cut the biscuits into four. Mix the sugar, biscuits and cinnamon together in a sealable freezer bag and shake well.

Place the coated biscuits in layers in the pan.

To make the sauce, melt the butter with the sugar and cinnamon. Mix together until smooth, then pour over biscuit layers in pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 35 minutes. When the bread is done place it onto a plate. Best if served warm!

Some people actually make the bread from scratch and bake in a bunt pan, but this recipe is kid friendly and delicious, who can resist cinnamony and sugary treats?

MONKEY BREAD...SOUNDS YUM YUM...BUDDY...I AM SO EXCITED TO TRY IT....

YES ....CINNAMON AND SUGAR....YIPPY....

DO NOT WORRY BUDDY...TANDOORI IS THE EASIEST THING TO MAKE....

IN A ZIPPER BAG, PUT 3-4 LEG PIECES OF CHICKEN + ADD SOME TANDOORI PASTE ( AVAILABLE IN ANY GROCERY STORE) + HALF A CUP OF CURD + LITTLE RED FOOD COLOURING AGENT + LITTLE BIT OF GREEN CHOPPED GREEN CHILLIE AND RED CHILLIE ( AS PER UR TASTE) + OLIVE OIL OR ANY OTHER OIL....- SHAKE AND MIX WELL AND KEEP IT REFRIGERATED OVERNIGHT....NEXT DAY - PUT THEM IN OVEN AT 350 deg C TILL IT COOKS ....TAKES APPROXM 30 MIN....

NOW, IS NOT THAT EASY ?? woULD U TRY IT NOW??

omg the monkey bread receipe looks absolutly wonderful and i will so be trying that one as soon as my oven gets fixed :) speaking of fixing the oven i have another receipe that is good and fairly quick and oh so easy to make it is something my mother and i came up with one nite when we didnt particulary have a lot of food to work with and we had several people to feed thus we created what we like to call frito chili pie bake :)

what you need:
1 bag of corn tortillas
5 cans of chili (with or without beans-we prefer with beans)
1 block of velveeta cheese

first open all chili and heat in a pan (only heat slightly then turn off)
next crush tortillas and begin to place in deep baking dish
then after first layer of crushed tortilla chips are in the pan place several scoops of the heated chili over chips-you want some juice to go down and wet the tortilla chips but you dont want it to be too wet
now cut the velveeta into thin (but not to thin) slices and place on top of chips and chilli in baking dish
continue to layer chips, chili and cheese in baking dish until chips and or chili are gone. you will almost always have cheese left over. the top layer should be cheese.
now place in oven on bottom rack and bake at 350 degrees for about 30-45 minutes or until top layer of cheese turns brown.
scoop onto plate and enjoy
you can top with sour cream, chopped onions (green onions are especially good here), sliced olives or anything that you think will be good on it :)

this is a family favorite in our home and i hope anyone who tries this will like it as much as we do :)

if i can think of any other receipes that i can put into word form i will post them as well also i would like to thank pratibha for starting this thread as well as so many others that bring us all together as well as allows us to get to know each other a little better i absolutly love this one as we all have the opportunity to learn new receipes especially since i love to cook (i would love to own a restaurant one day-ive just never told anyone that) and im always looking for something new and different to cook and i absolutly love to learn new and different food from other countries and cultures :) ok ok ok im out for now as i have taken up enough of everyones time but im sure i will be back with more receipes later :) until then HAPPY EATING AND COOKING EVERYONE :)

definitely going to try some of the recipes on your page. my fave is a dessert with both a healthy and luxurious option. its called Eton Mess. you take a pot of low fat yogurt strawberries chopped up and meringue shells which have been smashed up. put it all together in a bowl, mix till its all coated with the yogurt and serve. for the luxury use extra thick cream. lydia

THANK YOU LYDIA....

hMMM....THIS SOUNDS D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S........I WOULD SURELY TRY THIS FOR KRIISH....HE WOULD SURELY LOVE IT......

HE LOVES STRAWBERRY AND BANANA YOGURT....

ok, let's see, lately I am on a cleansing diet, so I will share a fabulous juice that i make in my new juicer: Carrots, celery, apple, ginger (not the sprinkle kind) the regular raw ginger, you just cut a small peice off and juice it with all the rest. then I add some kelp granules. hahaha, the ginger really puts a snap into it. really! so, also there are many varieties of vegetables to use.

another I love is pinenuts, and they are simple and deliscious all on thier own and with currents too. but also you can make your own pesto with them, just use spinach or collard greens, pinenuts, basil, olive oil, and you could use garlic if you wish or a number of other substitutes. well, I think most people know how to make pesto. let's see, do you know the black rice that turns purple? well that is very, very good, and it has many amino acids too. I would make some black rice with lentils and sesame oil, and a little sea salt. I use to eat, tofu, avacado, and alfafa sprout sandwiches, (mmmmmm mmmm good) but I don't much eat wheat anymore and I can't often get alfalfa spouts here where I live. (sigh)

Yesterday I grounded up sesame seeds, flax seed, poured into a bowl, then put three bananas, and some vanilla soy milk together in the food processor and some honey, then puored it over the ground up seeds, stirred it all together and stuck it in the freezer, then 'walla' Lol! well everyone liked it, so that's good.

I jsut Love those big papayas, I have just found them out ^_^
and mangos are my absolute favorite fruit of all time now ^_^ ^_^

haha, well, when I start to cook again I will have more to share. I do some sprouting of foods too, which is so very nutritous, until next time all..........^_^

*SMILING AFFECTINATELY*

AND where is urs favourite one sweetheart????

today, I made juice with a half of a whole beet (they are VERY potent) and about 8 carrots and some collard greens, then addeed 1/4 teas. of powdered kelp.
haha, if that wasn't enough, then I had some blue berries, golden raisins and pinenuts ^_^
Then, (hahahaha, yes then) I had a fried pancake made from organic soy flour, sprinkled with cinamin and ginger, and smothered in honey, hhhmmmmmmmmmmm ^_^

yes and last night I made..oh I forgot to tell you, I jsut make things up as I go along Lolololol!
so, I had some rice noodles with hot tobsco sauce (ouch) ^_^ and over them I had some sauteed tofu in 'Paul Braggs' liquid aminos (does anyone know about this)? well it makes anything taste good, haha, anyway I also had added some ground up cumin.....oh and maybe something else but I can't remember right now hahahaha
well I know don't eat like most people but sure get along. ok, well, I am at work and there is nothing to do so, I shared that with you, what the heck...Lol!

These ones sound delicious beyond words......Though I would be honest that i have not heard many of the ingredients and sauce....but that's okay.....sounds YUM YUM and I am sure Tofu made a YUM YUM food.....

We make Tofu at Home....In Boiling milk if we add lemon juice or diluted Vinegar....the milk curdles and after some time of boiling, the curdled part becomes hard.....and then u can strain it....in a mesh cloth and DONE....we need not make it cube forms....we can make curry like that with ginger garlic paste ( freshly made) with green or red chillie....it would make lovely curry with flakes of tofu floating like clouds....in curry.....

lol....cooking is like thinking poetry.......heee heee.....

I also cook from memory so puting it down would be a bit difficult but here's something. sometimes I crave something sweet and for no love or money I will get up and go to the store. so what I do is take two MARIE biscuits(I think its only in south africa, but its a melt in your mouth biscuit thats as big as your palm.) anyway then I take half a marshmellow and put it between the two cookies. then i pop it into the microwave for about 3 seconds. The marshmellow melts and makes the 2 cookies stick together. THEN I dip it into melted chocolate! YUMMY. quick and easy

Wow great receipes
I love cooking and will try these.I want to share this with you.
A simple and quick one with left over bread
Cut the bread slice into 4 squares.Fry them till golden brown and place them on kitchen tissue to remove excess oil.Make a syrup with sugar just like for gulab jamun.Take 50ml of milk ,squeeze a little lemon juice.Drain and use only the curdled milk,Use this to garnish.Spread the bread pieces on a plate and pour over this the sugar syrup just to soak them.Garnish each piece with fried cashew and curdled milk .
A fav with my boys

WOW....MMMMM....Delicious....very nice....Gonna try it today. Mom used to make it but instead of paneer, she used to add Milkmaid or Mithaimate and tehn garnish, This sounds different. I would try this as well.

This is a recipee to be tried late at night, with best friends or family. It's a comfort food for me and I remember many nights me and my cousins sneeking into the kitchen to make these and many nights with my mother just having a girl night.

MEGAS:
(usualy eaten like nachos)

1. a dozen eggs, amt. can be cut in half(6)for smaller amt.

2. corn chips; or corn tortillas stripped into chip size
(should equal about a couple handfuls)

3. cooking oil or butter(which ever you prefer)

4. cheese (any kind) enough to top about 1 cup shredded

The rest of the ingredients are toppings, use as much or as little as you like:

sour cream
guacamole
salsa
green onions
cheese
refried beans(heated up and ready to top)
olives
(or, whatever you like on your eggs/nachos)

1. Fry the chips or tortilla strips in a large pan until they start to turn golden brown.

2. Prepare the eggs as you would for scrambled eggs.(don't cook them yet though, set aside)

3. When the chips/tortillas are golden around the edges add the egg mixture to the pan with the chips.

4. Turn and fry the mixture until eggs and chips are cooked together well, add the cheese when almost done so that it melts throughout the eggs and tortillas.

5. Take the Mega's and place in a serving dish~you may add any or all of the suggested toppings, to top.

This dish as I said is served as nachos would be, so be creative and don't be afraid to play with it;)

They would probably best be served with some of Lacey's Midnight Margaritas(wink-wink*)

Hope you like them, I always did;) and thanks Pratibha for bringing everyone together over a universal love; food*
