Starridium Academy Multi-Genre Writer's Contest

Welcome to my first ever Booksie competition, the Starridium Academy Multi-Genre Writer's Contest! (Starridium Academy will be a part of my in-progress novel "A Legacy Is Born"; you might want to take a look at it).

There are certain rules and regulations to this contest:

Rule 1: Do not give destructive or hateful messages to writers or their entries. You may provide constructive criticism and/or praise their work!

Rule 2: The maximum word limit I will allow on all genres is 3,000. If you are submitting a novel (that isn't finished but stills fits the word limit), that can be accepted. (If you have only slightly broken the word limit)

Rule 3: Please, do not enter sex/erotica stories, songs, or poetry. Romance is fine, but please keep the raunchiness at a minimum. Your entry should not be a pornographic piece.

Rule 4: To enter this contest, please publish your writing on Booksie. Then, comment the title of your submission and the genre.

Rule 5: You may submit two entries in a maximum of two different categories. This is only optional, but increases your chances of winning the contest.

Rule 6: Entries do not have to be newly written.

Rule 7: All entries are due by November 14.

Rule 8: Any violation of the rules above will result in disqualification.

Poetry - limerick, prose, Haiku, etc. I do not, and will not count against you if you do not rhyme. In my personal opinion, poetry is not really about rhyming as much it is about emotion and depth.

Romance - extremely minimum sexuality

Fantasy - I understand some Fantasy pieces will be lengthy; I will take a brief look to see if the piece will be too long (this applies to all genres)

Realistic Fiction/Dramatic Thriller - These are somewhat similar. Realistic Fiction isn't always meant to be "thrilling".

Horror - Do not worry about if you believe your piece is too frightening, I will read it!

Fan Fiction - Please, do not submit raunchy entries here either.

Humor - 2 or 3 paragraphs of humorous material, or a series of jokes, please be original. Do not include racial or lesbian, gay, bi, or trans-sexual jokes. We are not trying to be derogative here.

Song - Any genre except sex/erotica. Romance is fine, but remember the rule (Keep raunchiness at a minimum). I will allow you to submit videos of you singing it, but you may have to post it to my Facebook page (which is VERY empty)

Article - This may be about any appropriate news or product. You may include images that are also appropriate that pertain to the topic.

Essay - This may sound humorous, but do not submit anything you wouldn't submit to an elementary teacher. Essays can be about topics such as anti-bullying or terrorism.

Religion - 2 or 3 paragraphs about your religion and why you follow it. Express everything about your religious beliefs.

I promise that I will not count off for personal views.

Grammar/spelling will count, along with the depth, creativity, and also the message you are including in your writing (if your genre can possibly contain a message).

Best of luck! I look forward to reading your entries! May the best writer win!

The winners of the Starridium Academy Multi-Genre Writer's Contest will be advertised on my page in the order of which they are placed (first place, second place, and third place) with and first and second place winners will have a direct link to a writing piece of their choice. You may specify this piece in the comments. Also, the first place winner can be included as the main character in a poem or short story.
