Underneath Your Wings

I wrote this song for my sister, and even though we fight a lot, I know I'll miss her when she graduates. You can sing this as a graduation song for your sibling too! View table of contents...

I’m erasing all the dates

Trying to flip the page

I want to let go

My heart’s not letting me do so

It’s going to happen soon

Ch:

I want to be together all the time

You are flying away to another cloud

Settling in, being a misty fog

I don’t think I’ll see you anymore

Only my breath

Will pass underneath your wings….

I wave goodbye

You’re packed with your bags.

I have an emotional baggage

Too heavy for me to carry

I can’t do this alone

I don’t want to just talk on the phone

Chorus

I’ll be checking off the days

Waiting for you to visit us

It’s going to be a sunny day

And I wish you could stay for so long

It’s just too easy to say

Chorus

The fog mists up the mirror

And I can’t see that you’re gone

Time’s been ticking forever

And the doorbell hasn’t rang

You must know I’ll be waiting

For you right here

Back home in your room

Chorus

You fly to high

And the wind is under your wings

Hope you will return to home

I’ll be waiting by the phone
