Short Story Phrase Contest

I love writing short stories and love reading them too. So I decided to start a little competition of my own!

I also sometimes have a hard time with coming up with something to write about. So I've decided to add in this element. Your short story must contain this sentence: "I don't know why he/she gave it to me; it's given me nothing but trouble." And yes, within the sentence you can change the tense or if you are writing in third person "I don't" can be changed to a different pronoun or name.

RULES AND GUIDELINES:

*comment the name of your story and provide a link
*include the provided sentence/phrase
*under 4,000 words
*any genre allowed!
*keep foul language to a minimum
*must be a short story (if it wasn't already obvious)
