Words that are never said
‘See you later’ are words we all say one point or another in our lives. But sometimes there isn’t a later. Most people say it in hope of a ‘later’ while others say it because they don’t think anything will happen to them or the ones they love.
I guess people say it because they don’t want to accept what everyone knows to be true. Sometimes there isn’t a latter.
‘I love you’ are also words people say all the time. Most people mean it but a few don’t. Can you tell me how many times we tell someone we love them? Twice a day? Once a day, once a week? Let’s face it, we don’t tell the as much as we should, as much as we are meant to.
Sometimes people don’t know we love them because we don’t tell them enough. I think that’s why most relationships break down, lack of saying those three simple words and meaning them.
But just like the words ‘see you later’, we always think there will be another time, another chance but you’re wrong. There’s not always another time so say it while you still can because one day you will realize there’s not another chance.
We never say the words we are meant to say, we want to say because of fear. Fear of saying it too early, fear it might not sound right, and fear it’s not the right time. Say what you want about fear but fear controls us all, fear shapes our lives, every second of every single say and we don’t even know it.
Let me say something right now, promise me that next time you feel words rising up from within you, next time you want to say something but something inside of you is telling you not too, swallow that fear and say what you want. Promise me you will do that. Even if you only do it once. Because you might not get that chance again.
Your words do matter. They mean something to someone out there; all you have to do is believe in what you are saying.
I know I believe.
