You know, we only get to live once.
I hear your voice again. Echoing like the last drops of water in a damp well.
And I'm there again, on the edge. The wind is tearing up our hair, forcing me back. But your hand is clamped firmly on mine, and our fingers are entwined. My hand is hot and clammy, but you don't let go. We only live once. You say again, as we stare down into the steep drop. I tear my gaze away, and find comfort in his eyes. There is a smirk edging on his lips. A smirk that knows he's won. He won't let go of my hand as I attempt to tug my fingers out of his grasp. I'm ready to turn and run. To leave this all behind.
Leave you behind.
But we only get to live once
His hands are on the nape of my neck, playing in the curls of my hair. You reached in to kiss me.
And suddenly, I'm falling. Without knowlegde or consent, my feet have left the ground, and my hand is still firmly plugged to his. And we are both falling together. Into the sky, falling fast. Inside i'm screaming, hating him, bubbling with viscious threaths. Hating you. But as we fall we suddenly stop falling so fast. The forces are balanced and we are sauntering in the middle of nowhere.
And for once,
I am a breathing soul. Taking and exploring this one chance to its fullest potential. I am living.
