Girl power. What does it mean? Does it mean the resistance of
females to do what men tell them to do? Does it mean women
challenging the social norms just so that they can have some
rights too? Really, ponder my question. What does girl power mean
to you? Everyone think differently. If we all thought alike, we
would still be living in caves, grunting instead of talking. The
point of this contest is to show others your view of what girl
power means and to just have a blast!
You can write your piece in any genre and in any form.
(Essay, poem, book, short story, fanfiction, horror, ect...)
Your piece can be fiction or non-fiction.
You can post only one piece of writing for this contest.
Judges: You can vote for your own piece, but only
Readers & Judges: If you don't like a person's contest
piece, don't bash them in a comment. My advice to you: don't
write a comment at all if you don't like a piece. Don't vote
for that piece if you don't like it, simple as that.
This contest will last from now (Aug. 1st, 2010) until Oct.
31st. After the 31st of October, there will be a month long
"viewing and voting" period. I'd appreciate it if at the end of
the title of your story (ect...), you would put: -grrrl power
contest! Just so that it will be easy for me to find your piece
for the contest. If you want to help me judge the stories, please
post a comment on my profile. When the voting time is nearing its
end, all the judges will post their 2 top votes on my profile. I
will look these over and try to find the two titals and authors
that come up the most. Then, the judges will vote again and
that'll be it. In the last vote, judges can only vote for one
piece. The over all winner and the 2nd place winner will be
notified. What you'll get if you win 1st or 2nd place is many
virtual hugs, a few little gifts on your profile, and the pride
of knowing that you wrote a truly amazing piece of fierce grrrl
power! Let me hear you roarrr!
To all the people that don't win 1st or 2nd place: Don't feel
bad about yourself or your writing abilities. You're all amazing
writers. It really is hard being the one that has to choose the
winners, because all of the writing submitted to this contest is
wonderful! Also, please, don't flame my profile if you don't win.
I know it might hurt you to have your writing snubbed,
but...really...don't blow up on anyone. I'm sure your writing is
great. : )
Just a note to all the authors that want to write books or
novels for this contest: Whatever amount of writing and/or
chapters you have posted when Oct. 31st comes around, will be
judged and voted on. I'd apprecaite it if you didn't write any
more than you already have on your piece, during the "veiwing and
voting" period. That'd just make it harder on the judges. Thank
Well, that's all. Write away, dear authors! Shoo! I mean it!
